#5 of 86 hotels in Icmeler
Travellers' Choice
On the beachfront, Sea Star Marmaris is an adults-only hotel in Içmeler on Turkey's Aegean Coast. It has an outdoor swimming pool, along with an indoor pool that's heated during the cooler months. You could spend long, lazy days on the beach or explore the local area, where you'll find natural sights such as mountains and waterfalls. There's a buffet restaurant that offers local and international cuisine, or you can dine à la carte. The hotel has a stone coloured exterior with glass balconies and a tiled sun terrace overlooking the pool. The lobby has floor-to-ceiling windows and marble-effect floors, plus an assortment of sofas, chairs and tables, so you can sit with a drink from the bar. Rooms have whitewashed walls, with dark wooden-style floors and patio doors opening onto a balcony. You can see the ocean and tree-covered hills from the hotel's pool area. At Sea Star Marmaris, you can book a beauty treatment or massage at the spa, which also has a sauna and Turkish bath. You'll be a short stroll from the centre of Içmeler, which has an assortment of restaurants, cafés and souvenir shops. It's also a short drive to Marmaris, with its waterfront bars and nightclubs, plus its Grand Bazaar and ancient castle that overlooks the bay.

We feel very lucky to have been able to stay at this lovely hotel for 2 weeks in September, just before the UK air bridge to Turkey was removed. The wonderful staff make this hotel special and contributed to us having a truly relaxing and much needed holiday in a beautiful place. Everything was covid secure and done properly, and we felt far safer there than in the UK. Although all staff were excellent, certain members of the team really stood out - so an extra thanks to Ceyhun on reception, Taner in the restaurant, and Nurhak in the spa. Ceyhun helped us change rooms on request and what a fantastic room we ended up with - stunning sea views which we loved! He was always so polite, helpful and professional. Taner is a superb waiter who looked after us so well for 2 weeks, learning our preferences and anticipating our every need before we had even thought about it. Service was always with a smile (visible despite the face mask!) and friendly humour. Nurhak provided the most amazing massages in the spa - the best we've had outside Thailand. So good we each booked in 3 times during our stay and came home feeling so chilled out and refreshed. We enjoyed her friendly chats and waves when passing the spa too. We had one or two niggles too but they were minor in the scheme of things. If branded drinks are important to you, you should be aware that only local alcoholic drinks are available at the hotel. This is contrary to what Jet2holidays advertises for the All Inclusive package at the Sea Star. We also have to agree with other reviewers that the All Inclusive buffet is very repetitive and lacks imagination. This is particularly true for the evening meal. However, with such a good exchange rate, we ate out most nights. There is a wide choice of restaurants within easy walking distance - our favourites were Venice and Tiki Bar. There is no entertainment at all in the hotel, not sure if this is due to Covid or is the norm here. Whilst we are definitely not into loud, forced fun and games, some light background live music/singer would have lifted the atmosphere in the evenings and is something the other local hotels seemed to offer. We went down the road to Tiki Bar for live Turkish music most nights. However, these issues were not a big problem and we would definitely love to return to the Sea Star when we are next able to travel.

Just returned from a month at the SEa Star and we could not fault anything. Staff were freindly, attentive and nothing too much trouble.Rooms were spotless and very comfortable.the mini bar refilled every day with several different varieties of drinks. Sea Star had all the correct things in place for Covid 19 they were so accurate in their layout.WellDone. The sun beds laid out correctly and the jetty.Special thanks to Memehet who as always first class ensuring beach and jetty clean. Also ensure no one on jetty outside the hotel. Food had plenty of choices and served by staff when you requested the dishes. Special thank you to snack bar staff best pizza I have tasted for a long time. Bar staff excellent nothing to much trouble. A big thank to Melis as always 100% Professional and an asset to this Hotel. The owner if the hotel should be very proud of his staff. Will we return definitely already pre booked 1 month for next September. I wrote this review with plenty of experience travelling considering I have been travelling the world for 50years. Also on final note I felt safer in icmeler than I do in uk because they abide by the rules.

See below for our side sea view, we overlooked a noisy extraction fan system! We paid extra as it states branded drinks would be included, no branded drinks of any type available! Fresh orange juice is orange cordial! Mini bar contains 2 small bottles of Efes and a few cans of Turkish soft drinks, this is replenished every other day! We ate out most evenings as the menu was very repetitive! Love İçmeler, but would definitely choose a different hotel next time

We’ve just returned from our 3rd holiday to Seastar and it was a lovely holiday in the circumstances.... The staff from Melis at front of house to all the waiters, waitresses and all bar staff couldn’t do enough for us and always with a smile. Thanks for everything Melis you’re a star. Hope this hotel can survive the COVID pandemic as I think it’s the BEST. See you next year every body.
