Wonderfully rebuilt abbey into a modern retro style hotel. No one would expect such a quality hotel in such a small village. Excellent service, good cuisine, parking, pool etc. Very worthwhile to stop-over.

We arrived after a challenging drive up narrow streets to the place. It is not well sign posted so arrive in daylight. The rooms are clean but small, no air-condition so summer heat (40+°C) can be challenging. The pool is small so best when the guests are few. It's a small short length pool more for dipping and cooling yourself...

What a surprise when we entered, This is an exceptional place to relax. Situated in a quiet village In beautiful countryside, yet near enough to the beautiful small town of Zafra. Hospederia made us very welcome and the staff are so helpful, they could not do enough for us. We ate in the restaurant both nights and were not disappointed...

We tried to get into the Parador at Zafra but it was booked solid. So were all the other hotels in town. Then it started to rain buckets. When we found that there was one room left at the Convent in Parra, we set out (about 15 mins) for it. After driving through teensy back streets in Parra, we arrived...

Charming place to stay, but by no means luxurious. It is a Convent by design! It's been transformed into a charming getaway for adults (no kids allowed), but the fact that the pueblo of Parra is quite limited as a destination, the atmosphere of this hotel is quite subdued. The single room I was in had no TV. If it...

This hotel is in the small and interesting village of La Parra. Each room is different and it maintains its old convent charm. However, there are practical things that outweigh charm and make this a good but not great place to stay. All of the heating is done with very old Wood burning stoves: fine for adults but dangerous for...

This is a delightful place to stay in beautiful Extremadura, not far from the exquisite town of Zafra. La Parra is a tiny, sleepy village, not unattractive but with little to recommend it other than the lovely Hotel Convento. Thoughtfully restored and converted, the rooms are comfortable and characterful, a decent size (even the singles) with well-equipped bathrooms and good...

Convento de la Parra is one of the best places I've ever stayed. It's beautiful and relaxing and the staff could not be more lovely. We were there five nights and six relaxing days. The bed is so comfortable and the grounds--the courtyard and the outdoor beds and the pool--are gorgeous. We read and drank wine and lounged around for...

This is a kind of gem you cannot afford to lose while in Spain. Is located in Extremadura, Badajoz province, a 100 km of the spain portuguese border. It is housed in an ancient monastery. All the rooms are very simple but at the same time very comfortable. All in pure white with windows opening to the little patio where...
