We had a one night stay in Lekeito in northern Spain. We landed at Hotel Azpiazu around mid day. The restaurant (Sunday) was so busy it looked like there was no hope of getting a room. Turns out there were rooms at a very reasonable price. A beautiful ocean vista and beach a very short stroll down the road. Room...

What a lovely hotel and surroundings. The hotel is not luxurious but for people who want to enjoy nature and beach, it's a pearl. Also it's pet friendly. The place is family owned, we loved how they treated us, the food was also great, but most of all the location couldn't be better. I just regret that we just stayed...

Stayed here one night only on the way from Asturias to Santiago De Compostela. Great value for money. Just round the corner from a pretty little beach. Short drive to Cudillero. Good value, quality buffet breakfast. Our room was on the lower floor without much of a view. There were better rooms above which we may have asked for if...

Perched a little way up the hill as you turn the corner leaving the astonishingly beautiful Playa Aguilar, this informal and friendly hotel is in a valley with a towering forest of eucalyptus on one side and a verdant feast the other with a flowing stream. The place caters for passing tourists and locals using the bar including the surfing...

The Playa de Aguilar is striking and memorable; I took a detour from the Camino del Norte to see it, and decided to stay at the Hotel, which is about a hundred metres from the beach. The patron was friendly and clearly used to tired pilgrims. He arranged for me to have a meal, although it was the very end...

My wife and I are walking the Camino del Norte from Asturias airport to Santiago. This was our first stop. We went from Soto del Barco via the coastal footpath from St Estaban (superb) and arrived tired and hungry at the Hotel Azpiazu just beyond the end of the beach at Aguilar. The lady on the desk was very welcoming...

our family found Hotel Azpiazu in 1992, when there was a brilliant review in the Telegraph colour supplement. it described this place which was akin to paradise with palm trees and eucalyptus. I will never forget my first sighting of the hotel, nestled in amongst all the trees and the warm fragrance of the eucalyptus. As we descended into the...
