We have stayed four nights in this Residenza, enjoying paintings and art works around as everywhere. Luca, guy working there, was very friendly and helpful, with bookings in advance, suggestions, stories about local attractions and small chats. He adds a lot to feel comfortable in this residenza-eks monastery-art museum. Relaxing breakfasts and evenings with view to Torrita di Sienna allows...

Not many words to say. Chance to experience Toscany in a charmful and exquisit way. Must-see place and worth every cent. Luca offers perfect service and the three-courses dinner in Montefollonico in the toscan restaurant "13 gobbi" were the best three culinary moments we got to taste. Try Grappa di Montalcino ;) Greetings, Christoph & Katja

Just spent four nights at Residenza D'Arte in Torrita di Siena. It was a perfect place to experience the essence of Tuscany. Luca, the general manager, and his wife were very generous hosts and very knowledgable about the area. Luca recommended two great restaurants used by the local residents. Ristorante 13 Gobbi in Montefollonico was our favorite dining experience in...

My fiancée and I stayed at Residenza d'Arte for a week in early July. This was my 6th trip to Tuscany and my fiancée's first. Our week in Tuscany was part of a two month vacation we were spending in Italy and France. We typically like to mix both city and rural destinations in our trips to Europe. Almost without...

We just returned from our first trip to Italy. Our first stay was here at the Residenza D'Arte. Beautiful! We were well taken care of and the grounds are magnificent. We were given day trip recommendations and the best dinner suggestions anyone could ask for. We loved the fact that we could take day trips throughout Tuscany and be back...

We were very happy with our experience at Residenza. Our room was upgraded since the hotel was not full and it was very spacious. Overall the couple that owns the hotel (and their daughter) are very hospitable and accommodating. They gave us great restaurant and sightseeing recommendations... The grounds and the hotel itself are very unique and visually stimulating. Quirky/fun...

A quirky but inviting villa in the heart of Tuscany. A strong family presence makes it a delightful place to stay. Excellent advice on local restaurants and historical attractions all part of the service. We would strongly recommend it, especially if you love art, which punctuates all parts of the beautiful building and garden. 10 mins by car to Montepulcianio...

We stayed at Residenza d'Arte for 2 autumn nights during an Italian road trip. The hospitality was above and beyond our expectations and Biago, Anna, and Francesca helped us through every step of our journey -- suggesting towns to see, restaurants to try, and mapping out a good route for us to complete our trip. It was truly a magical...

We stayed at the Residenza for 8 nights in October. It is a very magical place, owned and run by talented artist Anna Izzo, her husband Biago and their daughter Francesca. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Residenza d'Arte is a charming 14th century village in stone, an historical dwelling unique in the world that rises majestically on a splendid hill with stunning panoramic view, surrounded by cypresses and age-old olive trees. The Residenza is situated in the medieval town of Torrita di Siena, a few kilometers from Siena, Pienza, Montepulciano, and Cortona. As soon as you cross the gate of this historic dwelling, you will join in an artistic and poetic experience where nature and contemporary art are in harmony, so the Residenza d'Arte is a unique place to stay. The reception desk is in a large and pleasant hall where ancient beams and stone walls vibrate in a chromatic moving dance together with a collection of paintings, sculptures, and design artworks. The entire village is wrapped in a magic atmosphere, from rooms to the surrounding park. The project to create an unique Gallery Hotel in the world as the Residenza d'Arte starts from an idea of the artist Anna Izzo, sculptress, painter and interior designer known all over the world. ... more   less
