Detailed Reviews
We were traveling from the New York area to Raleigh North Carolina and wanted to stay overnight at a HamptonSuites We had several locations to choose from but this one stood out as we did not want to deal with city traffic and it was about 10 minutes off of 64 in Richmond, Virginia in Glenside. It had very good reviews and we were not disappointed!!, it was one of the nicest Hamptons Suites that we have stayed at. Easy to get to, nice parking lot, stores and restaurants nearby. (we drove about 10 minutes to a Cracker Barrel for dinner, which is one of our favorite swim travel, when traveling South). Most of all it was beautifully kept our room and the entire hotel was pristine, easy check in and check out, plenty of mirrors in the room so one person can be in the bathroom and the other person get ready and do their hair. Breakfast was delicious and lots of hot choices, a lot of healthy choices yogurt, fruit, fruit, salad, oatmeal cereal there is nothing I can criticize here ! We would highly recommend!!

Hotel's Favourite
Very clean room with large bathroom. They serve the best breakfast that we have ever had a a Hampton Inn, and breakfast included is a deciding factor at our destinations.
Red velvet waffles are always a hit and the staff kept all items refilled.
Will definitely return.

This hotel is located just off I-64 at a main thoroughfare convenient to restaurants and other amenities. Hampton Inns are my favorite stay and this one did not disappoint.
Covid measures were appropriately taken with masking and social distancing and evidence of cleaning. Hand sanitizer and wet wipes were available at check-in and we were offered complimentary water bottles. The breakfast was not hot as advertised, apparently due to Covid. A masked and gloved attendant proffered a paper bag and loaded our choices of wrapped muffins, granola bars, yogurt, bananas and oranges. Juices, cold cereal and oatmeal were also available. A tip jar was present. We missed the normal excellent hot breakfast but understand the situation. A vending machine held Coke products for $1.75.
Our room was clean and comfortable as we expected. The bathroom held Neutrogena products. The fridge was off and did not have a freezer compartment, but after we turned it on one side of the fridge actually froze our water. Housekeeping is only on request and for our two-night stay we did not require that service.
One more point about the bathroom. The vanity is somewhat high for a shorter person, and the vanity has a bow in front of the sink that is decorative but impedes closeness to the sink.
This location was $50 cheaper per night than a Hampton Inn 20 miles closer to the River City Sports Complex that was our destination.
We will continue to patronize Hampton Inns because we know what to expect and our expectations are usually met.

This must be one of the few remaining non-updated, previous-generation Hampton Inn properties. When you enter the hotel, you find yourself at a Hampton Inn of the early 2000s. The rooms still have the furnishings and appliances before Hilton updated this series more a decade ago. However, this is not a problem since the hotel seems to be well maintained. On the other hand, my positive comments end here. The breakfast during my entire stay was peculiarly bizarre. No cereal, no milk, no yogurt, no fruits, no hard boiled eggs, none of those standard breakfast area staples at Hampton Inns. The only breakfast items were those ready made omelettes with ham and bacon and sliced bread. Not a good situation for a vegetarian. Perhaps they were experiencing supply chain issues as I saw a delivery truck on my last day bringing in fruit boxes. If that had been the case, a sign reading something along the lines of "We are sorry for the lack of breakfast items due to ..." would have been nice.. As for the rooms: Although I have never been incarcerated, I feel like prisoners get softer mattresses than the ones I have slept on at this hotel. No matter which position I tried to sleep in, it felt like I was sleeping on a concrete slab. In fact, softer mattresses were one of the main features that newer Hampton Inns had included with their room updates. The shelves of the Market store in the lobby were all empty as well. A lady at the front desk answered a question about the laundry facility with "I dunno, I am new here" in a way "I couldn't care less about your needs" attitude. My mobile check-in was not honored either. If you look at my previous reviews, you may understand why this could be a serious issue for some travelers. There are nice restaurants within a few minutes drive of this location. If you have to stay in this area, there is another hotel that provides pots and pans in a room with a full kitchen in the rooms. So, all in all, you won't have a terrible stay here.

We had a great stay at the Hampton Inn last night with a nice clean hotel room and good breakfast. The only issue we had was with the EV chargers, located between the Hampton Inn and nearby Residence Inn by Marriott. They were blocked by people with gas cars. The staff at the Hampton Inn were absolutely awesome and immediately ran out to find a nearby spot (that was not an EV spot) and helped us stretch the cord past the gas SUVs blocking the spots. Absolutely awesome staff and great hotel, even if our fellow travelers were inconsiderate jerks.
(As an aside, we found one of the gas SUV owners outside loading her luggage and asked her not to do that in the future. She insisted she was an “elite member” and thus was owed the spot. Again, great hotel staff, terrible visitors.) It would be very helpful if the hotel had signs letting guests know they will be towed if not charging. Otherwise people like us may have their travel plans interrupted. We specifically chose this hotel based on the charging options, so it was really disappointing to see the hotel management not do more to make theses spaces available for people to use the charges. These chargers are not free, so the company is also losing money when these spaces are not available for EV cars that need to be charged.

Thank you for your kind words. We're grateful for your feedback. It's our staff pleasure to provide the best possible service to our guests, and we're glad that this commitment was reflected in your visit with us. The charging stations unfortunately are not a part of our direct property but our guest are allowed to use them if they stay with us. When I arrived, I was charged the amount that I had reserved and had received in the email confirmation, but overnight, a second charge came through (I get credit card alerts.) I asked the next morning and they didn't know what it was, got the manager who said it was a hold for "incidentals" and wouldn't actually go through. When I checked out, I saw that they had changed the rate for one of my nights and that was that second charge. It has been such a HASSLE to get it corrected even though I have the confirmation email AND the first charge was for the right amount. I called and emailed the manager and she simply ignored me. Hilton acted like they were doing me a favor by refunding my money, even though again, someone changed the rate AFTER I checked in. They're refunding it by check which somehow takes 30 days. Absurd! I was a loyal Hilton customer but they'll be my last choice now.
The breakfast at this hotel was also terrible, worst I've ever experienced at a Hampton Inn. They did not have many options to begin with, then ran out of food and shut it down over 30 minutes early on a Saturday. Bizarre.
It's too bad because the front desk staff was always friendly. I wouldn't have complained about the terrible breakfast if I didn't feel compelled to warn people about the overcharging issue. (Again, this was due to a change of room rate, not incidentals or buying anything.)

I stayed at the Hampton Inn in room 101 hotel May 7-May 9 for my daughters graduation. My second night I was awoken by something on my neck, I swiped it and a big landed on my face. I jumped up and turned on the light to discover two bed bugs on my pillow. I was able to grab one with a tissue and killed it. There was blood all over the pillow case. See photos. I quickly took a shower and threw my things into my suitcase to get out of the room and go to the lobby. The woman at the lobby at 5:30am didn’t really care or believe me until I showed her the bites on my neck and the dead bug in the tissue. Then said that gross and I asked her for help. She said she didn’t know what to do and called the manager who didn’t answer. I then asked for trash bags and bug spray so I wouldn’t bring the bed bugs home. She brought me trash bags to put all my clothes and said they gave no bug spray. I would not stay here they cleaned my room and gave not done anything to deal with the problem!More

I travel a ton for work and stay in hotels all over the place. First impressions when pulling up to the hotel already showed a massive lack of parking if they were fully booked. Storage containers are all over the parking lot which limits parking. Granted we also had a large trailer, but even standard passenger cars have limited spaces.
We arrived around 8pm and check in took a bit longer than usual as well.
Rooms seemed clean, the AC unit was working and the room was cool.
However the bathroom's shower controls were not intuitive and it took me more than a minute to figure out that the hot water setting was at the beginning of the turn for the water and not the far end like most every other shower. So be sure to mess with that before you get frustrated with lukewarm or cold showers.
On top of that the remodel had closed the pool. Bummer if you wanted to take a dip.
The bed felt average. Blankets kept me warm. Pillows are very soft, but I honestly like a firmer pillow, would be nice to have both options in the room.
My biggest complaint came from the breakfast performance. Especially when I travel and don't have my own transportation I rely on the breakfast to get me moving in the morning.
Egg omelette, breakfast potatoes, and bacon were all placed in a water bath to stay warm but the steam it created made the egg kinda slimy, the potatoes super soft and mushy, and I tried the bacon and threw it away after one bit. I was tempted to throw it all away because nobody should eat steamed bacon. The apple juice was also oddly watered down and I decided to just drink water instead.
I'll be skipping breakfast or only taking the packaged yogurt from now on most likely.
The remodel has a few things closed and looking like they are being worked on, and that's to be expected, but even a fresh coat of paint and new pictures on the wall don't fix the basics of a good bed, good food, and a comfortable place to refresh.
For the price it's exactly how I rated it. Average.

This hotel seemed fine at first- until I went to take a shower. There was no hot water. That should be the end of the conversation except the way that management handled the situation was TERRIBLE. A manager was contacted several times and there was no communication until the morning. My stay was supposed to be two nights but I obviously checked out in the morning (STILL NO HOT WATER). Apparently a pipe needed to be fixed (it happens) When I finally spoke with a manager, she was very apologetic and told me she would credit my account 3 nights (the one that was ruined, the one that I didn't stay, and an extra for ruining my vacation). She said it would take 10-14 days to credit my account. Fast forward and after several attempts to contact her- she hasn't responded to my calls or emails. Hilton has no record of the incident or attempts to credit my account. NO credit. Charged me for the night I didn't stay! (Also randomly charged me an extra 93$ which they removed)I chose this hotel based on good reviews and I felt it was my duty to let people know.

Probably several more months at least but it did not impact our stay in anyway at Christmas.
