Nestled in the heart of the city, Hilton Richmond Downtown has earned the admiration of many for its prime location, close to various dining options and entertainment venues. Guests have called out the spacious and comfortable rooms, although there have been mentions of cleanliness and maintenance issues, with some noise complaints related to the air conditioning. While opinions on value are divided, with some concerns over room and parking costs, the hotel's amenities generally meet guests' expectations. The service, particularly the valet and staff's professionalism, often receives commendations, despite occasional inconsistencies.

Listen, the restaurant in the Hilton has the best breakfast buffet I've ever had. The eggs were fluffy, the pastries freshly baked and NOT STALE. You can't even go to iHop these days and expect better than eggs that taste microwaved and bacon that can fit through a paper shredder. At this Hilton, they are very intentional about keeping the food fresh and the atmosphere friendly. Chandra, the host, was so lovely to talk to and she and our server Lorena were so helpful and took their time to make our breakfast special.

This was an overnight ladies’ trip. The location of the hotel was perfect for our plans to visit the National for a concert. The king bed was clean and comfortable, and there were no complaints about the comfort of the pull-out sofa.

The bathroom could have used a more thorough cleaning, while the price of the room for a Wednesday night, being above $300, was a ridiculous amount in my opinion. I’m assuming the location of the hotel had a lot to do with the pricing.

I would have liked breakfast and parking to be included with that price. Fortunately, there were great breakfast spots located within walking distance, and there was parking directly across the street for half of what the hotel charges for valet parking.

That doesn’t take anything away from Parker, Angel, and Chad; they provided gold-star assistance in valet.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay!

Dear Daydream !! Thanks for your girls weekend away. Yes, you picked a busy time with a city-wide group in town, so the rate was a bit higher. The National is a great concert venue, so I trust you enjoyed the show there. We hope to see you back again soon. I'll thank the valet crew; Parker, Angel and Chad ahead.

We rented two suites on the third floor for the weekend of our daughter's The suites were stunning. The living room furniture was enormous and comfortable, there was a bar area where we kept champagne chilling. Particularly helpful to us was the amount of open space for each bridal party to carve out a little area to get ready in. Also there was a second half bath in that suite so the bride had her own space undisturbed. Our suite was just as nice as hers but without the second bath. There was two large screen TVs which were very important, since in addition to our daughter's wedding it was also the MLB playoffs and our team was playing! The bathroom had not only a traditional tub/shower combo but also a huge walk in shower. The bath products provided are Crabtree and Evelyn. Nice touch! Robes were also provided- soft and clean and NICE! Starbucks downstairs was much appreciated for this joyful but BUSY weekend!

A couple standout moments for us, the staff was incredible. They truly understand customer service and made this once in a lifetime weekend special for us. We felt lucky to be able to treat our daughter to this hotel. The front desk team helped us solve problems and of particular note is the team of valets Devonne, Mario and Zione. These courteous gentleman helped us with our big rental vehicle all weekend and were absolutely great as we had to come and go frequently and with many people and various flowers and the like.

There were a couple minor details I mentioned to the staff as we checked out (the toilet in our suite ran and the shower was out of shampoo) that I feel very confident were rectified as soon as we informed them.

I recommend this hotel highly if you're staying in RVA. Thank you so much to the whole team from the Farnsler family

I travel extensively for work and pleasure and find that Hilton reliably has cleaner and more comfortable rooms. I also appreciate their quality shampoo/conditioner that keep me from having to carry bottles everywhere I go. At Richmond, the staff upon check in and check out were very friendly and helpful. The Valet’s, Angel and David, were beyond helpful and attentive. They made sure my EV was charged up for me and helped me with my bags. Top notch service at this hotel!

Drove to Richmond for a quick 1 night stay for a cheerleader competition. Chose this hotel due to the proximity of the venue, which was one block down the street. I booked 2 rooms because we were a party of 6 and even though they do have suites, they still are not big enough. The hotel is nice, we arrived around 10pm, they do allow late check-in. I loved the keyless entry, so there is no need to stop at the desk to get key cards. I am a diamond member and was able to check-in on the app. The rooms were spacious but definitely showed some wear, the floors even though they were carpeted were very creaky. There was no hot water in one room and in the other, the faucet for the sink didn't allow you to turn it to get hot water. Like I said, it was late, so we just sucked it up. Both doors to the rooms had damage, I'm assuming from people entering the room and bumping into the opened bathroom door. The vending machine located on the floor took our money. Our rooms were located on the street side, so warning to the light sleepers it's loud. Hotel parking is expensive $40 a night and they only offer valet. There is a small parking lot across the street with a max of $12, but it fills up fast. On the weekend, very little is open until 7am, even the restaurants at the hotel, so we tried going to a McDonald's that was a mile away at 6am, the website said they were open it was not. So we drove to a nearby 7-11, and it looked sketchy. Overall, downtown Richmond looks like it is struggling a bit. The Hilton needs some improvements it wouldn't be a bad place for a quick stop.

Thanks for your visit and detailed review. We appreciate you a loyal Diamond guest. We further welcome your personal email to learn exactly which rooms you had to address your concerns, feel free to reach out to ricrd_gm@hilton.com. Yes, being in a former historic department store you can hear some of the creaks (typically 2nd and 3rd floor) of the building. Valet parking is $40 and our neighbors are about the same, as downtown parking can be a challenge. We do open our outlets at 7am, and our pantry is open 24/7, unfortunately this past weekend we had to demo it for a changeover and install happening now. I apologize for these noted items, we consistently do much better. In regards to the downtown area it is quite vibrant, yet like most cities a few areas that can be improved as always. We hope to see you again soon and explore some more.

We recently stayed at the Hilton Richmond as a stop over on a road trip. We arrived at 6 pm and were just looking for a clean and convenient place to stay. Unfortunately that is not what we got- the bathroom was filthy (see photos), headboard was tattered as well as stains on the bedding and couch in the room. To top it all off the hot water did not work unless you held the knob all the way to the left. By the time we unpacked and noticed all of these inconveniences it was close to 8 pm so we chose to just deal with it. When we alerted Hilton and the manager of our stay they were extremely dismissive and responded along the lines of it’s not their fault because we never told them…I don’t think it is appropriate to put the responsibility on the customer especially for a hotel brand that prides themselves on a “clean promise”.

Additionally the executive lounge was closed which would have been a perk we could have enjoyed as diamond members. To make up for this they gave us a $15 credit….which is laughable because the executive lounge includes free snacks and breakfast at all times. $15 could barely buy a coffee in the morning.

Overall I do not recommend staying here and think management should have the decency to respond to customer feedback via email.

Thanks for your recent visit and review. My apologies for the noted concerns. Yes, we do pride ourselves on being clean and accommodating and sorry to see you didn't receive this on your visit. We have closed our Executive Lounge, however our Gold and Diamond Honor's guests do receive the $15 meal credit as you noted. I was on vacation myself last week, so not sure when / where the email went to the team. We also pride ourselves on prompt follow-up. Please reach out to me, or Alfredo - AGM so we can address with you properly if this is still outstanding.

The hotel was extremely clean. The rooms were all clean as well and decorated beautifully! From the time we got there the concierge Benjamin met us at the door with a luggage cart and unloaded our luggage and unloaded it in our room all while being friendly and telling us about the restaurants down stairs. Valet parking is a must as well! Angel was extremely helpful and so nice! Always with a smile on his face! Cupcake downstairs at the 1885 restaurant that was there for the breakfast buffet was helpful and very nice as well! The choice of food on the breakfast bar was amazing! From check in to check out, the staff were all accommodating, helpful, and friendly! I will definitely stay here again on my next business trip to Richmond! I would also reccommend The Hilton downtown Richmond to anyone traveling to Richmond!

A nice but dated hotel in downtown Richmond, I would like to see more options on the dinner menu, no pasta choice unless you adore crab/seafood and only one steak choice. Room service was good but they add gratuity automatically, which I feel is wrong…. any gratuity/tip must be earned. I wanted some laundry done, they do not collect from your room (incidentally, if you want your room serviced, you must request this a day before as it is not automatically done)…. laundry is collected by 8am from reception, so if like me you miss it by 10 mins, you’ve lost out…. no exceptions, very disappointing. Gym is small but adequate and on the 3x I visited it was very busy. Rooms are big and spacious but air con never seemed to warm up, even with leaving it on all day set to 80f/26c. Breakfast is basic but there is a menu option ….. the highlight for me was Erika 😍 at breakfast, she was welcoming/happy and always on hand, by far the best member of staff at the hotel. I shall be back in 2024, but I will try the Marriott opposite instead.

Thanks for your visit and review. A few replies to your comments, but I welcome your call or email to discuss further as needed. We know our guests have choices in lodging and we strive to deliver excellent service, as well make memorable moments. We are currently updating our menus in the lounge, and this past week had the pleasure to taste some of the new items soon to roll out. We don't have pasta as an option as we have a wonderful Italian Restaurant LaGrotta onsite thus we try to offer other options for our guests. I was sorry to hear you missed laundry by a few minutes Mark (our provider) is always willing to turn around if a guest or associate missed the 8am pickup, I'm sorry if that was not offered. You must have been at prime workout time in the gym, during a recent busy week, as often it's not too active and with the three peloton's, 5 treadmills, and other equipment I personally haven't seen them all in use at one time during my rounds. I will certainly thank Erika for your mention, and again hope to see you in the future.

Beautiful Hotel, Dropped the ball on customer service a couple times. We stayed at this hotel in July of 2023 for the USA Karate Nationals. Don’t get me wrong, this is a great hotel, but the couple times I interacted with staff, they dropped the ball.

I booked the hotel months ahead of time and they said we could have a rollaway bed because two queens were available. When I checked in, they said they showed we had a rollaway bed reserved. About 9 pm when we got back to our room, I noticed we didn’t have a rollaway bed. I called the front desk and was told that the custodial said it was a safety hazard to have it in a standard king room. There was plenty of room after I moved one chair out of the way and they don’t clean rooms anymore anyway. So, I got very little sleep for four days with a kid crammed in our king bed. I was going to complain to the hotel day shift manager, but didn’t have the time to mess with it.

The other time, we went to the pool and there were no towels left. I went to the front desk while the kids swam and asked for towels and they said they would be delivered. It was getting close for the time for the pool to close and they never delivered towels. I went back and then they gave me a couple towels. When I got back another family of four was wet and needed towels. I told them I would go back and get them some. This time, the front desk said they were going to wait for the laundry to get done before they delivered them knowing that people needed them and the pool was closing. Neither of these issues are the end of the world, just not what I expect out of Hilton. Another incident happened where staffed knocked on my door when I was in bed about 11:30 and tried to deliver a comforter. He had the wrong room.

Not a big fan of having to valet park. If I had to do again, I’d just park down the street in the parking garage.

Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable. There is a restaurant that provides breakfast. Didn’t get a chance to try it. Rooms were quiet and was walking distance to the convention center.

Thanks for your visit and review. Glad you were here for the Karate Nationals, we enjoyed the many guests attending. I'm so sorry to hear of the rollaway, I would have gladly brought one up myself as they do fit in King's, not sure where the miss communication occurred. We strive to provide memorable experiences, not "bad memories". We have reviewed your notes with our team and will certainly do better in the areas noted ahead.

This is a wonderful center-city hotel. Everyone we interacted with on staff were friendly and professional. The valet service is well worth the charge -- our car was always available when we needed it. The check-in and check-out went seamlessly. I appreciated the convenience of a full-service breakfast in the 1815 cafe. When we return to Richmond I will make may reservation here.
