My husband and I have just returned from 10 days in La Funtana. We had a perfect holiday and were really impressed with this hotel. Our room was spacious, bright and very clean with a comfortable bed and powerful shower. We chose a balcony room which we recommend and had a garden view. Our room was cleaned daily to a high standard and our sheets were changed a couple of times too. We had plenty of towels and a shower gel/shampoo dispenser in the shower. The fridge and TV were handy too. The pool area was a huge bonus at this hotel. It was clean and always quiet with plenty of sun beds available. The pool was really big and perfect for swimming lengths. The restaurant is a fantastic addition to the hotel. We ate there one evening and had a set menu of 4 courses, all of which were well presented and tasty. We also enjoyed breakfast and felt there was enough choice for us even though some reviews say there isn’t much choice. There was toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, cheese, ham etc, fresh melon, croissants, pastrys, cereal and lots more sweet choices. We could also order cappuccino and espresso alongside the filter coffee at the buffet. We found the staff very friendly and happy to help. The waiters worked very hard at breakfast and dinner time to ensure everything was perfect for us. I agree, the staff don’t speak that much English but what do you expect when you are in Italy?? It’s a perfect opportunity to try and pick up some basic Italian. I never understand people who complain when staff don’t speak English! Location is perfect...15 minute walk into town/ beach with a variety of restaurants and many along the way too. Seafood is definitely the speciality in Santa Teresa but we did find an amazing pizza restaurant (Balajana) and a spaghetteria (M&Ms cafe) which were great. There is a supermarket across the road from the hotel too which is very handy. The route to the beach is fairly steep with a few steps so be warned if you struggle to walk. The beach is absolutely beautiful though with the most crystal clear water and white sand with a walk up the mountain for an amazing viewpoint. It was quite busy when we were there but this wasn’t a problem for us. There is a large free car park. It can get full late in the evening but I understand there is a garage to park in if the car park is full so just speak to reception if this is the case. Thanks La Funtana for a memorable and relaxing holiday!!…
The room was clean and spacious. The staff was very friendly. I had some problem with the flush in the toilet and as soon as i told this to the receptionist it has been solved. The breakfast was ok, but not much choice. The hotel is situated approx. 20 min walking distance from the center of the city. Also the hotel offers free parking that is a plus. Overall i liked staying there.
This hotel delivers on all the important services. It is clean, friendly and relaxing. It has a great pool area with plenty of sun beds and a reasonable breakfast. It is within walking distance of the town for shops bars and restaurants in the evening and has free parking. A car is essential to enjoy the many beaches of the area. It has nice grounds but ask for a pool view otherwise the views can be onto other houses or scrubland. There is a road into town out front but the gardens ensure it is far enough away not to be a noise nuisance. There is also a supermarket across the road which can be very useful . All in all we liked this hotel and could recommend it for consideration.
We stayed here last year and anticipating our holiday elsewhere tomorrow, I feel prompted to review La Funtana. The name is misleading... there’s nothing “fun” about the place at all. The food is atrocious, simply inedible, do not believe the hype. The staff indifferent at best but mostly downright rude. The best thing about the place is the owner’s little dog. The pool is nice, always a sunbed... prob because so many people check out early, and it is clean. My advice? Avoid at all costs. If you do have the unhappy experience of staying here, don’t waste your money on the over-priced slip they present as “gourmet”. Instead, head to the wonderful Lungano up the road (turn right out of hotel and a five-minute well you’ll see it on the opposite side of the road). The Funtana staff (who speak little to no English) told us to avoid Lungano and directed us to other hotels nearby (obviously a deal they have with them). We ignored them and were met by the Uber-friendly Lungano staff who served sumptuous meals & delicious desserts. If you’re reading this review hopefully you haven’t booked already, if you have, see if you can swap.…
We spent two nights at La Funtana after having a really bad night in a place nearby. We had not booked ahead, but they found us a lovely family room when we arrived, with a good price. It was spacious, with good air con and comfortable beds. The breakfast was fresh and the staff really friendly. It is located 20’ on foot from the center of Santa Teresa, where there is a night market and good restaurants, shops and bars. There is also a good pool, with some sun beds. I strongly recommend this place if you are in this beautiful part of Sardinia.
