Got a room here for one of our party as our holiday home beds were so uncomfortable. Although the beds in the hotel were better, the room had a pronounced damp smell and so the person still had a bad nights sleep! Other rooms may be better - it may be that this twin room was relatively infrequently used and... More

have been in here quite a bit and I have to say the food has always been excellent. The staff are friendly and very welcoming and the hotel itself has a peaceful and quiet atmosphere. The menu caters for snacks, dinners and dessert. I can recommend the chocolate and orange cheesecake when its on the menu.

Great old building, on the main road, so was easy to find. Parking around the back, which was great. The room had old furniture, but it was fine, because it was in keeping with the rest of the building and ambiance. The bed was comfortable, and clean. We went into the bar, which got really busy as the night wore... More

Stopped at this pub and restaurant for lunch during a tour of east clare. The pub and restaurant was spotlessly clean and we'll kept. The staff were very curtious and nice. The food was very nice also, reasonably enough priced as well.

Stopped in here and had dinner while watching the rugby world cup with the local patrons. It was really fun. It is a nice little pub that is exactly what you imagine when thinking local Irish pub. The meals were great. I had roast beef and it was one of the best meals I have had in Ireland. Hearty home... More

I didn't stay in the Mountshannon Hotel. We were staying in the Lakeshore Holiday homes nearby. We dropped in for lunch one day. Toasties and chips with salad were just what was needed! We also had a couple of drinks there. Nice atmosphere in the bar. Friendly staff and good Guinness. Trad session on Friday nights.

We went to mix with the tourists and locals at this hotel/bar. It was very active and the awesome loan bartender was kept hopping. She was friendly and efficient. It was a Saturday night, so lots of laughing and visiting going on, It was a fairly warm evening, so even the outside picnic tables were full. We didn't eat a... More

It is an old building and it shows. rooms are tiny and outdated. The heat not on in our room. Do not go there. Mount Shannon is a summer lake tiny town. Everything closed in Oct. Had to go the another town to find a place to eat.
