Great hotel in near wilderness. Loved it for food, friendly staff, nice room and great location. Best buy restaurant. Stay 2 nights and explore te area. Remember the puffins are only out at dusk. They hide during the day. Pictures amazing.

We intended to stay outside in a tent on a campsite, but the hotel manager kindly let us stay inside for the same price due to cold temperature. We are very thankful for that, as well as warm welcome overall!

This was my 5th visit to Iceland but my first so far north-west . This time we planned a few days up in Breidavik and then a few down in Hellnar (Sneaefellsness area ) We choice this location specifically for the Latrabjarg Cliffs and the birds. We had just finished some time in Reykjavik and had dropped my children off...

On our 17 day circumnavigation of Iceland, this was our least favourite hotel. That's not saying it was bad, just that everything else was better. We had one of the hotel rooms and the view was great but the room was average if not a little strange. The entrance door had a big clear glass panel without covering and if...

We stayed at the Country Hotel, Breidavik on the 3rd night of a 14-night tour of Iceland in August 2014. The West Fjords are a bit "off-the-beaten-track" for the majority of tourists to Iceland so enjoy the splendid isolation of the area. The journey on the 612 (a rough gravel road from Patreksfjordur) is quite exhilarating. Look out for the...

This hotel is perfectly located and offers multiple ways to sleep: camping, hotelrooms and sleeping bag rooms. We booked a hotel room with made beds and shared bathroom and toilet. The first thing you’ll notice when you arrive at the hotel is that the place does need some fresh paint. From the outside, the whole place looks a bit deteriorated...

After spending a day climbing the cliffs at Latrabjarg, we wanted a nearby place to set up our tent. This place is one of the few there are around for miles, and they had a gorgeous view down to the beach, so we decided to stay here. It's a bit pricier than most other places we came across, but they...

Its a beautiful drive to the guesthouse through the cliffs, beaches and blue water. There seems to be a pet sheep that followed us around when we arrived :) The container rooms closer to the beach have nice views but are very expensive for what you get. The rooms in the main building seemed very worn so were happy to...

Very remote. I expected a village but the hotel and camp ground is pretty much it. Staff extremely helpful. Room was tiny! Bunk beds. Shared bathroom £95 per night. Evening meal delicious,,,cod was stunning and cooked to perfection, moist, succulent, tasty. The lamb shank was the same, I tasted my partners. Was about £20 for the meal which was good...

We were booked in here by our agent as we wanted to get to see the birdlife on the Latrabjarg Cliffs - we were on day 13 of a 17 day self drive tour of the country. The hotel is well placed for the Latrabjarg Cliffs, but the birds were not as numerous as we had been led to believe....
