I love the Hestheimar. I keep coming back because I love the location, the rooms are very nice, comfortable, and clean, the owners and staff are very friendly, accommodating, and eager to make sure you're having a great stay, and the food's delicious. I stayed here with my boyfriend for a couple of nights as we explored the area and...

Likes: Good rooms, adequate breakfast (for Icelandic standards), ample parking and friendly staff. Dislikes: The curtains let in light, which in Iceland means no dark room to sleep in during the night. Also, the handle of the door nearly fell off and the bathroom door couldn't be closed properly at all.

We were a group of 6 people, 4 adults and 2 kids, and we had two cottages for 1 night here. The cottages were wonderful and had a few necessities like milk, coffee, and tea, which was a nice touch. Everyone we interacted with was very pleasant. We also went down to ask about a last minute riding tour, and...

We stayed here for 2 nights. We had a nice cottage where we managed to see the northern light. Breakfast was delicious, with freshly baked bread, pan cakes, eggs, ... Dinners in the evening were also very nice. The atmosphere is cosy, you have the feeling of being part of the family.

We talked about how great our stay at Hestheimar was for the rest of our trip. The cottage is perfect with big windows to enjoy the views. You can go down to the stables to pet some adorable Icelandic horses. We woke up one morning and they were right outside our cottage but I think they had got lose so...

I've stayed in hotels, cabins, and other guest houses in Iceland. But this has been my best experience. The room is clean and welcoming, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and the estate is gorgeous. This also has the best shower and bed that I've encountered in Iceland. Plenty of outlets in the room too!

This was far by the best place we stayed at in whole Iceland. The cottages are great! You have everything you need, a comfortable bed, quiet, and a tremendous view. Can´t wait to stay there again. Do not forget to plunge into the hot tub!
