After a long day of travel, it was wonderful to arrive at the darling Northern Light Inn. Nestled in the lava beds, we may have missed the turn-off in the dark if we hadn't been following GoogleMaps so carefully. The lack of ambient light must make for some wonderful starry skies and northern lights but, alas, we had a cloudy,...

We stayed here for a few nights in mid-December and had the perfect break! The Inn is comfortable, quiet and relaxing and the staff very helpful. Sadly we didn't need the northern lights wake-up call, but we plan to come back and make up for that!

We arrived here after 2 days of none stop in Reykjavik. The hotel is so peaceful & relaxing, I don't think I've been that relaxed in a long time. The hotel picks you up from the airport & also drops off. They will also take you to the blue lagoon which is minutes away. The hotel do a wake up...

After an overnight flight into Keflavik, we were met at the airport and transferred to the hotel for our two night stay. Arriving at around 8.00 a.m., the welcome was friendly and we were relieved and grateful that there was a room available for us at that time. The rooms are functional and the bed comfortable; the public rooms are...

It felt like we were being welcomed into a close friend or family's home for a visit. After a disappointing and underwhelming stay at the Ion Luxury Adventure Hotel, we were wonderfully greeted with this charming, family-run hotel that is a few minutes-drive to the Blue Lagoon! I love all the details of this lovely, lovely hotel! From the common...

I'm so glad I decided to book this hotel! there were a few i was comparing, but this one surpassed all expectations, which were already high. They have free shuttles to the airport, as well as to the Blue Lagoon. All transfers were prompt, and went smoothly. The FOOD was PHENOMENAL! Pricey, but woth it - everything was top notch!...

We had paid for bed and breakfast but because we were leaving at 3.45a.m. not even a yoghurt could be provided. We were woken by phone at 11,30 with a demand that we come and settle our bill. we were dead asleep because we were getting up early and they knew that. I could not then go back to sleep....

Dear DorothyLindaSmith, Thank you for your review. We are very sorry to hear of your experience. Booked 3 nights here after seeing the positive reviews. Yes, it's really close to blue lagoon, but in Dec, it's not walkable. Yes, it's far away from city and possibly a good place to catch the lights, but it's not very accessible and nothing much to do around here. As for the lights, still waiting for the clouds and rain...

Dear 249kelvinw, Many thanks for your review. You are right we are in a middle of a lava field and there are 5 km to the nearest village and 45 km to Reykjavik city. We are currently spending our last night of 4 at the Northern Lights Inn, the hotel is like a home away from home, it is very cosy and homely, the honesty bar is a great touch, there are snacks and drinks that you help yourself to and write down your room number and it's charged to your room, the games...
