Located in 3 hectares of parkland, and terraces, in the fields of organic apples of Provence, this 14th century prioré was restored by its owners retaining many original features. If you are looking for a relaxing stay the domain of Carmes & Spa has to offer. 4km from L'Isle sur la Sorgue with its antique shops, its famous Provencal Sunday market, and its wonderful villages of Procence, and its lavender fields, the Carmes also offers a table d'hôte menu in the evening.

Where to start? Les Carmes is an old convent, which has been beautifully renovated. Both the building and the surrounding grounds are a feast to the eye. From the moment you arrive though the big gate, and you make your way to the building along the long beautiful driveway, you are immediately impressed. Then there is the cheerful and warm host, Pascal, who is there welcoming you even before you have gotten out of your car. Pascal makes you feel at home rightaway. Nothing seems to be an effort for this wonderfully cheerful man. He organizes a drink for all his guests every day at 7pm. His breakfast is to die for. You are looking for a restaurant? Look no further, Pascal has it all under control, he tells you where the best places are and makes the reservation for you. He invents a cute nickname for all of his guests. We were "les Amies Belges". Your holiday will be a guaranteed success if you stay at Les Carmes.

The reason for this being such a wonderful place to stay is Pascal himself, who does not hesitate to attend to your every need. Les Carmes has the feeling of being very charming, peaceful and boutique however it is actually spread over a huge sprawling area of countryside. The house is quaint, the decor beautiful, the rooms comfortable, the swimming pool a good temperature. Breakfast is continental and very nice with good coffee. The minibar is well stocked with a good selection of soft drinks and wines. The only two suggestions I would make: (1) Remove the exercise bikes from the pool, nobody uses them and it is more pleasant without. (2) Possibly to add some snack options to the minibar like pretzels or crisps. Thank you Pascal for a fantastic stay!

My very warm friends from Domaine des Carmes & Spa, Thank you for your lovely message, our portal will always be wide open so that you can discover and re-discover our region with exceptional heritage. Thank you for your comments. For bikes, you've probably come when people do use them, aquabike in France is a very popular sport. You can among other things move them in the pool, they are on wheels. For snacks, we have done it in the past, but no one consumes them. It is very rare for people to be at lunchtime by the pool. They take the opportunity to visit our wonderful region and taste the flavours of Provence. I totally understand, you who did not have a vehicle but we could have adapted and served you with pleasure, if you had asked us. Provencal friendships, Pascal and his team

This is a very special hotel made to be an entirely wonderful experience by the most gracious and friendly host - Pascal. It was already to be a very special trip meeting my daughter after 10 years apart so we sought out a very comfortable, cozy and quiet hotel in Provence to catch-up and chat. Pascal the owner is simply wonderful, from providing plenty of his chosen local wines, a glass on arrival, a glass or 2 as he provides local restaurant recommendations and books them for you, a glass to take to the hot-tub and sauna, and a glass while he helps you decide where to visit. He provides a lovely breakfast with local breads, croissants, yoghurt, local cheeses (cow, sheep and goat), fruit salad etc the only thing missing is the options of some cooked eggs which would have been a welcome choice some mornings. He even takes the time to print off a map each morning as an option for places to go and see each day. I simply can't praise this hotel and owner enough, and we went in January but clearly the evenings of entertainment will make this well worth the visits we plan to make in the summer or autumn months. Perfect quiet location, close to a charming town with plenty of great restaurants, cafes and bars, and easy driving to so many sights of Provence. We totally recommend a visit to meet Pascal in his wonderful hotel.

What a fantastic place! This place is quintessential Provence- very charming, romantic and full of history. When I booked this hotel I planned only to spend nights there while visiting Luberon village but we ended up spending much more time just hanging out at the property. Our room and bathroom were huge and charming, breakfast was good and pool very nice. Pascal was very kind, he offered itinerary to explore area and recommended restaurants - all spots on. There is wonderful wine reception in the evening to meet other guests what create very nice friendly atmosphere. We had great time and I highly recommend the place!

Beautiful building and a friendly welcome, nice wine and a great swimming pool. Very comfortable room, impeccably clean. Charming service and a lovely breakfast. Only serves food in the evening in the summer season but they are happy to book a restaurant for you in the nearby town.
