A lovely two night stay at Chateau La Roque. The hotel and grounds are very well done; the host was genial and helpful (his wife unfortunately was away on family concerns). Location was perfect for our desire to see the Luberon area of Provence. We dined in both nights as we didn't want to be driving home late (after some...

wonderfully restored XI th century chateau and the most charming hosts. Great set-up on top of a hill viewing the farms in the region, with a beautiful little garden close to a few "plus beau villages de France".

I think that this type of lodging embodies what Americans think of when wanting to visit France. Wonderful views of orchards and vineyards. Excellent accommodations in a restored chateau. When going up the well-trodden stairs, I realized that this was the "real deal." I had wanted to stay in a chateau and this was what I had envisioned. The extra...

We had visited this hotel twelve years ago and always wanted to go back. At last we have had the chance and it is even better than before. The site is marvellous; high up with wonderful views; the garden charming. The chateau itself has been lovingly restored with terrific style. It is also very comfortable. The owners, Jean and Chantal...

I've never had dinners as the ones prepared here in my while life (and I've been to many good restaurants). Everything is hand prepared by Chantal and Jean. Wine list of a 5 star hotel, save for the fact that you are in a cozy magnificient small castle in the middle of green provence. Terrific views. Definitely a must.

The lights are aglow in the Medieval castle that is your temporary home as you relax and reflect on the terrace after a day of exploring the lavender trail, or the Rhone wine villages, or the locations that inspired Van Gogh and Cezanne. You face a setting sun and look down from over 300 meters to Chateauneuf du Pape, twenty...

We had a wonderful and relaxing 2 nights at Chateau La Roque. Jean and Chantal welcome you into their home and nothing is too much trouble. They are lovely hosts. The room was comfortable, bright and airy with glorious views over the surrounding countryside. There was a pool area where you could relax and soak up the sun, and occasionally...

When was the last time you have stayed at a real medieval castle? Well it was the first time for our family and it was absolutely the most charming place and the highlight of our stay in Provence. We stayed there 3 night with our kids (ages 13 and 10). The place is beautiful. While being dated back to the...

Sleep like a King or Queen in this wonderful Chateau. A dinner cooked by Jean and served by Chantal is a must. We arrived without having made a dinner reservation but they graciously invited us to enjoy a wonderful meal outside on the terrace as the sun set. Magical evening and one we will never forget. The hosts also recommended...

“Chateau La Roque can accommodate a family of 4 with 2 rooms (ventoux and jardins) linked by their own stairwell. Works great for older / independent kids (say 7 years old+). Our kids loved the small terrace and direct access to the yard. The upstairs room is large enough to take a crib as well.”
