Stayed there a month, and everytime I walked into the room, I was reminded of what a classy hotel it is....always clean and perfectly appointed with artistic extras (housekeeping rocks!!), lighted awning at the front door (I can picture Audrey Hepburn on a movie set there). Amazingly reasonable rates amidst outlandish hotel prices in Anchorage (big hotels cater to the... More

Duke's is a comfortable small downtown hotel. The location is great for me that I can walk right across the street to the Conoco Phillips building for business. There are no kids running in the halls or doors being slammed. It nice that you can get your computer work done and not be bothered. As always the hotel is clean... More

My family and I have stayed in a wide variety of Anchorage's downtown hotels over the years. Duke's has topped the list for being clean, quite, and spacious. The location was perfect. I was able to walk to my conference as well as coffee, restaurants, culture, and shopping. I look forward to my next stay at Duke's.

I had a very bad experience with this hotel. looks nice but the management is bad with bad customer service. they called me up just a week before my travel to Anchorage to attend the Aerospace annual meeting. which made the situation worse that the town is almost fully booked for that entire week. This not the first time that... More

Duke's is directly behind the Dena'ina Convention Centre in Anchorage which makes it extremely handy if you're attending a conference in town. Downtown Anchorage is quite small and easy to walk around in. This made Duke's within a few minutes walk of pubs and restaurants. It was great to have a kitchen facility to make our own meals and in... More

Duke's 8th Avenue comprises a number of suites each with kitchen living and sleeping areas. We were given a very warm welcome by Christine and her staff and the hotel represents excellent value for money in a city where hotel rooms are very expensive.

If you need granite counter tops and Toto toilets, this in not the place for you. But if you want value in a clean, safe environment with an accommodating hotelier and personable staff, right downtown with the ability to walk everywhere, then book this residential hotel immediately. Why settle for a room when you can have an apartment? Plenty of... More

The hotel cancelled my one-night booking because they overbooked their long-term stays! They couldn't even change my one-night suite booking into 2 separate rooms or to a business suite. Looks like they prefer long-term stays to one-night stays.

This place is dated, but it's reasonably clean. The rooms are outrageously overpriced for what is on offer. Top points for location, but that's about it.
