Everything listed and written on the web site is true. The hosts are incredibly hospitable, engage in very responsive communication, and even provided home-made jam as a welcome gift. It feels like having one's own apartment with a fully working kitchen available and invitation

Linda, Thank you for the thorough review, it's very balanced and I think it will be very helpful for future guests. I'll add some info on the website about the acessiblity of the downstairs rooms and check the guest kitchen for some updates. I wish I had known you wanted juice, I had some! :-) If you're ever back in town, we'd love to host you again anytime!

Easy to get to, comfortable, friendly, we had a good time on the start of our Alaska adventure. We arrived late, but that was no problem, and the morning breakfast was great, and filling for the next day's travels.

We enjoyed starting in this house with 5 rooms and a couple of kitchens. The rooms were very clean with private baths. The owners were attentive to our needs. The breakfast was hot and good. Easy to find. Reasonably priced!

Since most of the reviews looked pretty good, we opted to try this place out for a night after our cruise as it was fairly close to the airport. This was a mistake. No one was around to let us in at 4PM. We found someone working there and he was able to get us into the

Rob, Your review breaks my heart. I'm so very very sorry that you were unhappy with your choice to stay with us. I know that after the fact there is nothing I can say or do to make it right. I have had bad experiencing while traveling myself and I know there isn't anything to be done now except to tell you that I'm sorry your visit wasn't awesome. I'm a little confused by something and I don't really have a forum to address it so I think I will write a note here. In the same day that I received your review I received another that was five "circles" and very happy, a text from a guest thanking us for making their trip special and a handwritten letter in the mail from someone who stayed the same time you did that thanked us for "going above and beyond to make his trip once in a lifetime amazing" - I can't comprehend how all these reactions are to the very same place, the same staff at the same time. As a business owner, I'm very confused. If our feedback was as bad as yours consistently, I'd probably decide I was a failure and close up shop. But your review saying "the Breakfast was served, but was so unappetizing I just couldn't." stands side by side with others that say the same breakfast was, "hot and good, great, incredible." You say the platter offering a cookie or muffin was empty, but I remember that day because Annette made banana nut muffins and sent me a text to warn me because I'm allergic. You "couldn't get in" and needed help finding the key waiting for you in your room but others "appreciate the quick and easy self-check-in." ---These contradictions leave me really struggling with how much to take any review to heart and how much to just work hard as a team to put out clean rooms and friendly service. I think some disconnect in experience comes down to expectations. You point out a few things that I would like to mention to others considering booking our B&B. Being so close to the airport, welcoming late night arrivals/early departures and being open to one night stays, we really specialize in being a reasonably priced, clean, friendly comfortable, safe and quiet place, to start or end an Alaskan Adventures. There are of course more expensive places to stay that have more "frills". It's understandable that to some, those extras matter enough to pay for them so we are not the right choice for them - if you are celebrating a milestone, looking for a resort, wanting to be in an exciting urban setting, that just is not us. We are a family (and a couple friends) who work hard to host amazing folks from all over the world as they embark on or wind up their Alaskan Adventure. We have self check-in, as most guests prefer it. The showers are small but, there is a video tour on our website with every room of the house so that there are no surprises on check-in. All our beds are custom made log beds with lots of pillows, purchased new for each summer season. The "garden" is a garden until the end of the season, there are peonies, bleeding hearts and rhubarb out that window that are beautiful in season. But, I have no idea where that ladder came from, we found it there but it's not ours :-) In closing, I'd like to once again tell you I'm very sorry you left unhappy. Hopefully, your one night here will fade in comparison to the amazing experience you enjoyed in Alaska. If you are reading this review, considering staying with us and are at all unsure. Please check out our website, it has current video tours and photos along with a comprehensive faq section. Or feel free to call us directly, my mom or I always answer the phones and we can talk through your needs and expectations so that we can either make you really happy or suggest someplace that might be a better fit. -Thanks for reading this far. -Jess
