No - the Outpost was only open from mid may to mid December when I travelled there.

I can't honestly say for certain but, knowing Cathy, this wouldn't be a problem at all, she's lovely and very accommodating

You can walk to the beginning of the trail. It was very easy and they even delivered our vehicle to the train station where your adventure. It was pretty perfect.
