This place has been serving meals for 900 years! Thank you mr Google as there is no other way we would have found our way there. Well worth the trouble to get here. The meal was amazingly good with different and interesting menu. The amuse busche was a big feature. We felt privileged to eat here as a part of...

Did I mention Fantastic... Truly a culinary delight, I would say for the money (I had the €45 menu) the food was stunning, great value and plentiful. While you choose 3 courses, you get 5 and the salmon foam and other extras along with the additional taster desserts made this a truly wonderful meal. I would drive here from the...

Fantastic gastronomic experience. Prices are very reasonable given the obvious quality of the dishes. Recommended: first read Balzac, then visit Chateau Sache, walk out and around the corner go in this Auberge to dine in that spirit. You will enjoy!

Ten of us [Americans] enjoyed a delicious dinner delivered with elegance and grace. All of the food was first-rate, the wine excellent, and the service above reproach. Our 'home' at the time was a lovely farmhouse where we stayed to paint [watermedia] and soak up the beautiful Loire Valley. This review was for the restaurant only.

Since 15 years ,I go once or twice per year (minimum) and was never disappointed ; the restaurant old part ( ask to eat there!!!) is remarkably warm , cosy , a pleasure for the eyes ; the food is excellent and you will never leave the place being hungry ! The desserts are worthwhile , don't miss them !...

Third visit during 2010 for lunch. High quality food of real interest. Wine list has good breadth but concentrates on the region. Value can be found. Service exemplary. Curiously, to use the toilets, a trip through the kitchens is needed.

My French boyfriend and I lunched there twice during our stay in France in July 2008, at both times with French friends or family. In our experience, we were received graciously by the host, who yes, is a bit of an unsmiling soul, but the food is definitely worth going off the beaten track. We found the portions to be...

I booked by fax from South Africa two weeks prior to visiting L'Auberge du XIIe Siecle I did't have an email address. I hardly speak a word of French but the staff were ultra helpful and polite. Yes, the maître d' may have appeared like a rock to the previous reviewer. But formality should never be confused with manners. I...
