Top notch in every way! The room was nice and had a very comfortable bed. The owner was so nice and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious and served to us on this beautiful verandah overlooking the hills and (bonus!) an active volcano! Lovely landscaping with pretty flowers and hummingbirds to watch as we ate. It was a bit tricky to...

The host is extremely welcoming. Breakfast is superb, which includes eggs, fresh fruits, bread and coffee. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Mountain view. The location was a bit of a challenge to find, but had we taken their GPS coordinates we would have been fine (totally our issue). We had a car to get into town and around, but...

Casa Amanecer was the first place we stayed on our trip to Costa Rica and it is a lovely B&B in San Ramona, about 1 hour west of the airport in San Jose (thankfully they arranged transportation cuz we never would have found it on our own!) The room was very nice and comfy, the view from the patio at...

We stayed at Casa Amanecer for the first two nights of our holiday in Costa Rica. The room and en suite were clean and comfortable - just what we needed after 24 hours of travelling. The host Helen is wonderful and we very much enjoyed our chats with her. The breakfasts we had at Casa Amanecer were delicious - fresh...

We stayed here for 2 nights, and loved the place, we chose this over Villa Blanca and just paid for a taxi to take u up to Villa Blanca to do the hike, which is worth it. The accommodation is perfect, really modern with some lovely features, the view is to die for as you look out over the valley....

Thank you so much for your kind comments. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay with us. Just so you know, we highly recommend a similar hike in the Valley of the Quetzals, where the Resplendent Quetzal may be spotted between February and June. It is very beautiful cloud forest and an easy trail. Please come back and stay...

We had arrived from Canada to San Jose near 9:15 pm and by the time we got to San Ramon is was 11:30 pm. They will need to know if you plan to arrive later than 9 pm. After waking up the host, we were shown to our room which was quite nice. Breakfast was served to all the guests...

This was a lovely little B&B to kick start our Costa Rican tour. Helen was very accommodating and the rooms were clean and very comfortable. A wonderful breakfast the next day and Helen looked mortified when she found out my husband didn't eat eggs after she had served them! (My stupid husbands fault not hers!) Reason for a 4 not...

Thanks so much for your comments. I'm happy you enjoyed your stay at Casa Amanecer and also appreciate your concerns regarding the shower head and the smell from the bathroom sink drain. I must say, the first time I visited Costa Rica, I was very concerned with these "duchas" as well and the way they were wired. I had seen...

Our first stop in our Costa Rica trip could not have been better!! This B&B has it all: beautiful views, rustic rooms, decorated with beautiful taste and a wonderful staff, Helen could not have been more attentive, accommodating, welcoming and offering great suggestions for surrounding activities and local eateries. I want to particularly stress how responsive she was to my...
