Had one night before a whale watching tour into Kenai fjord. Old but cool. Had everything we needed. Know that the place is aged but has been kept up and is clean. The only real negative was that we could hear some loud mouths in the hall in the morning...but we were already up. If you want to sleep in...

This hotel is old. The regular rooms are fine but beware of the "historic wing." The rooms look like something in a mental hospital and share the corridor with restaurant tables- yes- weird and loud. The staff were stand off ish but I think it's because they are probably tired of hearing the guests complain about how bad these rooms...

We spent 3 nights at Hotel Seward. We had a double room in the historic wing with private bathroom. The hotel is conveniently located. We appreciated the typical ambience and the fact that our room, despite small, was clean. The drawbacks are the overall smell of old building (maybe some refurbishment would help) and the breakfast at the near restaurant...

This place needs major facelift. Maybe a little paint & carpet cleaning to start. Had to have front desk 'flip' a switch somewhere in the bowels of the building to get heat going in our room, TV did not work, hallway smelled kinda stinky & had to haul luggage up stairs since elevator did not exist on the wing we...

The location downtown is ideal for the sea life center, downtown shops, restaurants and brewery that is only 1 block over. It is 1mi to the marina for fishing excursions and day cruises. Plenty of parking. Friendly staff. Our room was small for the price paid, but we were there during the Salmon Derby which I'm certain inflated prices. No...

Polite reception. Checked into my $179/night small room with shared bath. The window was open, yet still there was a slight "body" smell to the room. I advised reception and was told the hotel was full. I asked later, same. When checking out, I mentioned it--and they thanked me. I slept with the window open. The place needs a major...

This hotel was very charming. The lobby and bar area are much the same as the were decades earlier. Our room was on the second floor with a great view of the harbor and a king size bed. The room was recently modernized but still had an old time feel. Bathroom was a little small but very functional. Nice fluffy...

We were pleased with our room. We stayed in an executive suite which was very nicely decorated. Location was in center of town about 15-20 min Pleasant walk to the docks. They were very accommodating in getting our bags to the ship while we enjoyed some activities in town. Their restaurant was very good for breakfast.

Hotel Seward is one of a kind which makes it fun. We had the executive queen room with a view and it was very nice with a small kitchen area and a view of the street, the mountains and the water. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast and dinner are available in the hotel and the crab omelet at breakfast...

This is a very old hotel. I had the misfortune of staying at The Seward Hotel" for 2 nights this August. As soon as you enter you will detect a bad smell. My room was in disrepair., and very very small. The window screens were falling off. The bed was uncomfortable, and there were stains around the toilet rim.
