I and my beautiful girlfriend were visiting this place in early April. We had nice time, the location was almost ideal and very quiet. The breakfasts were a big help and super tasty in the morning. Finally, the stuff was very friendly and tried to foresee many our needs.

This B&B's is conveniently located to visit the Kona side of the island. We stayed here for a week. I recommend staying in one of the two rooms in the main building that also contains the kitchen and dining area. They're nicer than the guest houses and lack the dank, musty smell of the other cabins. The people there are...

Actually we just went through an interesting wet season this year with a hundred year storm that took out our ponds, waterfalls and all our koi down to the ocean. But the humidity is back down in the 60% levels now so all is drying up very nicely. Thanks for your comments for the Maile and Pikaki, our least expensive...

We enjoyed our stay in the cottage. Roosters and frogs didn't really keep us awake--though, as others have said, earplugs are a good idea if you would find that a problem. Very friendly staff--Matt and June were very helpful. And the freshly baked bread was nice to have at breakfast. Very convenient for seeing the island.

My husband and I spent a lovely week in the Banyan Cottage. This B&B truly lives up to the name "house of peace." We enjoy camping so the music of the birds, frogs, chickens, and turkeys were delightful. If that bothers you, you may want some earplugs at night. We also loved being far from the tourist scene but close...

We stayed in the main house and liked it! Another guest stayed by the road and had trouble sleeping so ask for a room away from the road. We liked the staff and appreciated doing our laundry in the house washer after 3 pm. Property is at about 1000 feet so it cooled off nicely in the evening and morning....

Decrepit room filled with bugs and spider webs. I wouldn't even use the shower it smelled so dank. The carpets were disgusting. The place is falling apart. Mortified to notice after eating breakfast that a huge rat trap sat just below the fridge. There were also teensy ants everywhere. All over the tables, in the butter, everywhere! The room even...

Seems like we get one of these reviews from time to time and wonder if they really stayed here as folks move into the same space after them and really love being here. If these folks had talked to me, I would have upgraded them to a more expensive room without charge. Yep, and I am 25 yrs. now with...

Our then-younger family stayed in the Banyan Cottage 20 years ago over the Christmas holidays, and my wife and I decided to revisit Hale Maluhia when we traveled to Kona this spring. We had another wonderful experience, and reconnected with a longtime family favorite. Breakfast is a delight. Make yourself an omelet or just fry an egg -- or try...

We had a wonderful view, lots to eat, met some cool people. The bird watching, jade sparrows, saffron something, and turkeys was delightful. The parking was a little tricky, especially with a rental car.

Thanks to the staff for making our stay of 4 weeks so enjoyable. We were looking for a quiet spot and this was a unique experience and we will be returning next year. We met many interesting travellers from all over the world who were all delightful. The breakfast was well presented with fruits, waffles and if you wished a...
