6 months in Kona so basically everywhere you can imagine. Sheraton one of favorites if you have money or are not staying too long, There’s only 3 resort style hotels in Kailua Kona, this one being the furthest from the tourist center, about a 10+ minute drive depending on traffic. Yes . I didn’t believe it either but traffic is actually pretty bad. So the Sheraton pool is great, staff great, rooms great, grounds great, manta ray viewing amazing. Down side? You are a bit far to go anywhere except the bay which is basically a really pretty boat launch. So you are spending a lot at the only 1 of 2 in house restaurants. Feeding a family of 4 for a week could add up. But all in all it’s worth it if you aren’t the type who likes to just walk out of your hotel and see all the tourist trinkets and restaurants . There’s lots of cops there too eapecialllt on that road so don’t even think about being tipsy and driving. Hawaii DUI accidents are really really bad. Tourists get killed or kill people more often than I realized could happen. Just depends on what you want from your trip. I was there 6 months and didn’t get to see everything I wanted. It’s called big island for a reason.

We enjoyed an amazing stay at the Sheraton Kona resort. We did not want to leave. The views, the pool, the staff were are incredible. It was as if the staff were friends! The fresh bakery goods delivered each morning were fantastic! A special thank you to the cafe staff that took such good care of us each morning: Christina, Jeffrey, Mailie and Vickie. If we are ever able to return to Kona we will stay here again

This is my second time vacationing here and I absolutely love it. The location is superb, staff is incredible and the activities to adventure are amazing! The reason this hotel doesn’t get a firm 4star rating on this app is because it’s facilities are a bit outdated. However, this hotel is still clean and beautiful. This is a hidden gem because of all its extras. If you are a little stuck up and need a perfect shower head and like to spend vacation in your room? Maybe not for you. If you are ready to adventure and embrace the island and it’s culture? Perfect!

Beautiful location, but the hotel is showing its age. Our room is ok, but the bathroom is disgusting and the shower head only produces lukewarm water and a trickle for water pressure. There are multiple chips on the tub floor. Additionally, there is a wedding tonight and the music is so loud that I have to yell in my room just to have a discussion. It's as if the wedding is taking place in our room. If there is a wedding, they should not place guests in rooms adjacent to wedding. Staff is friendly. But I will never stay here again. If you are going to the Kona side of big island, stay north of airport. I cannot recommend this hotel. terrible experience.

We booked a regular room using points but when the receptionist saw my request to have a room that can see Manta Ray, she searched and found a room per my request. Greatly appreciate the way that the staff has put in extra effort to appreciate our loyalty. We can see Manta Ray tours from our room. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Room is spacious with balcony equipped with wicker chairs and a high table. The resort is not huge but big enough for morning walk and strolling. It’s dotted with tropical plants, gazebo and benches. The best area is the one with wooden lounges facing the ocean. Sitting there, reading books or just listening to the howling of ocean gave you a sense of out of this world. One surprising bonus was seeing a family of mountain goats roaming around for “breakfast” early one morning. There’s a kiddie “beach” at one end of the kid’s pool was brilliant. The only complain is there’s no formal sit down restaurant. The property is right next to the meeting point of our manta ray tour. There’re masks everywhere inside the property which is a big plus so you don’t have to run back to your room every time you forget your mask
