This place is great! The location is tops, right among Kailua attractions, only a few miles south of the Kona airport. Our room was in the furthest south tower, on the south side, overlooking the lagoon. This was primo. The lagoon is a great pace for sunning, with loungers and sand brought in, and a natural salt-water pool. There is...

The big island was our favourite island! Kona was easy to get around and amenities were close. Our room was tidy and clean. Staff were super friendly and helpful, the restaurant was awesome! Loved the views from our tables.

My husband and I spent our anniversary night at Royal Kona on April 4th, 2017. We live on the Big Island up in North Kohala, so it is fun to go to the "city"for a night out! The pluses: Great location, right on the water and very close (walking distance) to shopping and restaurants. The bar/restaurant downstairs -"Don the Beachcomber"...

We were disappoint that there was no beach and no hot tub. There is a nice pool. Rooms are older and dated, but clean. No signs of bugs. Staff are very nice and accommodating. They helped us get a room when our travel agent had goofed up and left us without accommodations for the first night. Bar by the ocean...

A older hotel, but you get a real feel of Hawaii. Very beautiful grounds. It is only a few blocks from Ali'i Drive filled with shops and restaurants. And less than a mile from the pier where 2 of our tours departed from. They have a Luau right on the hotel grounds and it is fantastic. The staff was excellent, they helped...

This hotel was conveniently situated near bars and restaurants and close to the dive shop we used for all our excursions. Although I think the upkeep has been let slip a little in general the rooms where spacious clean and the aircon worked although a touch noisily. The waves crashed on the rocks a lot which I liked but others...

The hotel location is excellent but it goes downhill from there! Rooms are dated and frankly so is the lobby. It needs a complete renovation!! They seemed to be doing some work in our tower but doesn't look to be enough. We booked an ocean front room although the first night they put us on the 2nd floor in the...

This place looks impressive from a distance, but, yup but, it's quite a different story close up and inside. We had what some might consider a premium room location. First floor large and spacious room with two separate vanities and small fridge but no microwave or access to other equipment. Our corner room abundantly large and spacious wrap lanai (deck)...

Great central location but..... we were given a room in the Bay tower. Cockroaches everywhere....even in the coffee machine. Noise from the restaurant bar next door late into the evening. Very run down. To their credit they sent someone up with a Raid can and offered to credit some of our services. Restaurant closed at 9 pm. Pool area was...

I highly recommend the Royal Kona Resort! We have been staying here for years and the Hotel never fails to deliver. The welcoming staff always works so hard to make sure your stay is a pleasant one. Their happy hour is a great time to enjoy their excellent menu of Pupus and drinks. Their Mango shrimp and kalua pork sliders...
