The spring ocean was pounding over the sea wall. It was spectacular and thrilling. From our garden level room we had the louvered windows and the Shoji doors wide open to let in the ocean mist. No tv or phone. Just listening to the surf, the birds in the mornings and the geckos chirping. It was perfection! Our hosts April...

Had a really good stay here. Our room was nice, simple and clean with a great view straight to the ocean. Beautiful views for sunset at the pool. Close to everything on the west cost of the Big Island.

This hotel was everything we wanted in Hawaii. Beautiful oceanside view from the room, with a comfortable amount of space to spread out and live in for a week. We originally looked to book one of the smaller rooms, but they had already been sold out more than six months in advanced, so we upgraded to the kitchenette. No regrets...

The unpretentious atmosphere was so relaxing, it almost felt surreal. All the staff form the front desk person to the housekeeper were so welcoming I kept wondering if they owned the place. The pool was wonderful. The ocean splashed into it, making it a truly salt water pool that it was very easy to float in. Sunset by the pool...

This place is fine for the price. right on the seafront which is great, but ridiculous as this sounds we had trouble sleeping due to the waves on the rocks below our room. Need to have windows open because no AC. Would probably look for a different hotel if we come back to Kona.

Charming place managed by very friendly people. We had booked a week in late March, early April 2017. No frills, no AC but the room had a good fan and the location is great. Good breakfast. The lanai overlooks the water - we saw lots of fish every morning. Waves were loud the first night but we got some earplugs....

You really need to book! Take any room you can get! It's worth it. Way better than a crowded resort and pool. Rooms are basic but clean and all you really need on a beach holiday! Highly recommend this place !

Kona Tiki needs a facelift. Peeling paint, rotted wood around windows and sole ceiling fan doesn't generate enough breeze to cool the room. The closer one is to Road the louder it is and the lighter the breeze. The Kona Tiki is open air. If one closes blinds for privacy and to block light at night, you get no breeze....

If you are lucky enough to stay here, your in for a great time! Rooms are a bit older and rustic, but clean and comfortable. Every room has its own little lanai, which opens to the sounds of crashing waves like you've never heard before. Breakfast is served 7-9 and consist of fruit and baked goods and coffee or tea....

We spent ten days at the Kona Tiki Hotel and found it clean, comfortable and one of the best deals for the money ever. The owners are both welcoming and accommodating. The rooms are right on the ocean and provide a solid 70 db of rolling surf to lull you to sleep.nightly. There's a gentle breeze off the ocean, so...
