Great location. Walking distance to snorkeling, beach, swimming, restaurants, bars, boat tours and the Kona historic sights. It is about 10 minute drive to the airport. The rooms are nice size, clean with a balcony. There is a pool, but this is not a resort...More
We had a great room with an ocean view for an excellent price. The location is just perfect, close to restaurants and shopping, and easy to get around by foot or by car. I'm definitely recommending this place to friends and will stay there again...More

This hotel is located in the downtown area of Kailua-Kona. It's a nice authentic Hawaiian themed local hotel where the staff is nice, the rooms are descent, but there's no air-conditioning and no cafe on the premises. However, there are eateries in walking distance.

Check with the hotel desk (they are very helpful) - both about the affiliated restaurant next door and nearby places. There are several fast foot joints nearby (McD's, subway) that are likely open but that's probably not what you want for arriving in Hawaii on Thanksgiving. Since the hotel is right in downtown Kona most likely something will be open.
