I underestimated the draw of the annual Custer Buffalo Round-up. By the time I called for lodging reservations, only two rooms were left in the park, and not in my first choice. It turns out the Blue Bell is ideally located, an attractive, quiet cabin...More
We spent 2 nights in one of the cabins at the Blue Bell Lodge. It is a great location within Custer State Park. The horse stables are very close if you want to do a trail ride. I would highly recommend it. We also enjoyed...More
We were there only for lunch, by chance.
I wish we had know of it earlier as it looks like a perfect place to stay.
Lunch was great. We were outside under an umbrella. It was so peaceful.
The lodge itself is so cute --...More
The grounds are wonderful, nice walks around the cabins. Maybe a five minute walk to the restaurant and bar. Seen turkeys, deer, rabbit, buffalo turds so hey are around. We stayed in cabin 15, very nice! Large bedroom with a table(plenty of nice chairs), wood...More
You can't beat the setting for the cabins. Nestled in the pine trees inside the park. If being near nature is where you want to be it is a great location. The cabin was equipped with most everything we needed but could use a bit...More

2. This probably depends on when you're going but when we went last July reservations needed to be made ahead of time. In fact, there happened to be a large party for the Chuck wagon dinner so we weren't able to do that. It was all booked when I called weeks in advance. We booked the horseback ride ahead of time -- and it was an amazing experience. DO NOT use GPS for the stables or blue bell lodge; get directions when you call.
3. We didn't make reservations and were able to get in for dinner no problem but still would depend on when you go.

The fire pits have grills. You can use from the room (Provided for inside fireplace). If you need more wood, the adjacent general store sells it. The only thing they don't sell is lighters/matches. Odd to have fireplaces and fire pits in a place where sale of matches and lighters is a no-no, but they are easily gotten outside the park.
