We stayed in one of the small housekeeping cabins. When I say small I mean small. The two queen beds are pushed against either wall and the is just enough room to walk at the end of the beds and in between. There was a small mini fridge and a small closet and bathroom. Thay being said the cabin was... More

We stayed at legion lake resort for a long weekend. It was perfectly located to see all the attractions we wanted to see. We stayed in cabin 1 which is right next to the lake , so we had great views ! The cabin was renovated two years ago and you can definitely tell. It was a little cramped but... More

I'll begin this review by saying that our family stayed at this peaceful resort in early May. I believe it was the first week they were open for the season so there are bound to be some "bumps" in the road. We rented three separate cabins. The pros: easy and efficient check-in/check-out. Very friendly and helpful staff. The cabins are... More

There must have been a communication error when we were given the first cabin. It was small, cramped and bare bones. We brought food for the cabin and there was no place to cook it. We spent one night there and went to the State Game Lodge also in the Park to see if we could book something there. The... More

Our family of 6 stayed for two night in the housekeeping cabin #5. We were very comfy. The cabin was newly built or renovated. No musty cabin smell here! Smelled like fresh pine! Nice little kitchen area. The kids loved the outdoor space. Rocks to climb and a play set and beach just down the hill from the cabin. The... More

Really liked this quirky cabin. One of the sleeping rooms had windows on 3 sides. We watched a fantastic lightening storm from this room one night. We also saw a lot o shooting stars. The kitchen is pretty well equipped. It's very well located for sights north, like some of the hiking and mt Rushmore and sites south, which is... More

Arrived not knowing if we were actually at the 'hotel' as all we could see was a restaurant and shop. Staff on Reception not the friendliest I've ever come across, however we checked in and told where our cabin was - behind the main 'complex'. The cabins can be described as fun. They are small, cramped and very brown. The... More

A little dreary as the lights are low wattage and the carpet, curtains, trim & sofa are all the same color.(Hey folks - there are colors other than brown). But, we had a good time - nothing fancy, it was clean and the bed was comfy. we'd go back.

We stayed in cabin #2 which is located in the back of the complex. View of the lake. Great location as the lodge is close to Custer, Crazy Horse, Mt Rushmore, State Game Lodge and Wildlife Loop Rd. Everything was clean. No complaints. One room had a full and twin bed. The living room/ dining/ kitchen house the other bed.... More

We've stayed at Custer State Park, State Game Lodge area, Creekside cabin, and another time at the Lodge motel room. The quality of the rooms and cabins was the same- rustic nice. This time we stayed at Legion Lake area due to the proximity to Custer and Hot Springs- two areas we knew we'd be visiting during our week visit.... More
