I arrived in Volcan with the intent on staying two nights. Ended up extending my stay twice, to five nights. My room was clean and reasonably priced. Good location. Across the street is a Supermercado, along with a bakery named Panaderia nueva California that serves great baked goods, plus delicious helado. There's a small restaurant just around the corner where... More

The staff were so friendly and helpful they helped us find a local Guide for hiking Volcan Baru and were always smiling. Good value rooms with hot water, wifi & comfy beds. You can see Volcan Baru from outside the hostel. Volcan is quite spread out but you can walk along the road to whatever you need and there is... More

After a disappointing stay at Hotel Don Tavo the night before, we checked in to the Hostal Brisas de California (a couple of hundred meters further along the road) on the 25th February 2009. We found this charming little place the day before while we were out walking and instantly regretted having booked into the Hotel Don Tavo. On the... More
