Whilst we were in Guatemala we read the previous reviews and were very worried as to what it would be like. Not sure why, but we seemed to be staying in somewhere completely different. Our travel agent had booked us in what was called a suite & it was brilliant. It was a detached bungalow, with a terrace to sit...

The place has magnificent views of the river, ample grounds, and a vast complex of pools and decks. What's not to like? Well, the attitude of the staff, for one thing -- which was unique in our experience of Guatemala, where hospitality and helpfulness seem to be the norm everywhere. The first room we were assigned was in a wing...

My friends and I visited this hotel recently. I was taking them on a tour of Guatemala and decided to stay in this hotel for a couple of nights. I really enjoyed the swimming pool and view. It is located in a beautiful place and the marina has a great access and service. The food in the restaurant is excellent,...

This hotel has so many problems that there is not enough space to write them all. Now Guatemala is a third world country but they clearly have new world style as they steal money by over charging while promising to return funds...but do not! There are many many safety concerns with this property including electrical wiring live and in the...

The hotel is in a great location on the banks of the Rio Dulce - its restaurant (more later) abuts the marina. But the location is wasted by the indifferent staff and run-down, dirty rooms and linens. Cinderblock walls in the bathroom, bare electrics, no tv, bare tile floors, toilet needed repair (I did), grey towels - at least the...

If all you are looking for is a shelter from the elements in a gorgeous location for way too much money, then this hotel is for you. The rooms are poorly maintained and the beds and bedding is old, dingy and not well laundered. The hot water heaters in the showers look like they will electrocut you if it works...

This place has good security from the gate and seems user-friendly for the boats moored at the marina. The lobby is spacious and is not walled in but it is poorly lit and bugs gathered there in the evening when I was trying to use the internet. The only internet access is in the lobby. Our room was near the...

We stopped here for lunch and a dip in the pool during a recent trip. The service was fantastic; and the ceviches and sashimis were delicious. Our food and beer were delivered poolside. We couldn't have asked for a more lovely afternoon stop-over. If you have kids, they will likely be mesmerized by the boats docked in the marina, and...

My traveling companions, Dana and Paul, and I stayed at Nana Juana this year on our annual mission trip to Guatemala. We stopped by the hotel last year to scope it out for a future visit and were impressed enough to stay here this year. It is on a secure location on the lake. The grounds are picturesque and the...

We enjoyed one night's stay and were immediately impressed with the open air beauty of the reception area. Our room was away from the water but that was no matter. It was spacious, clean, and had a good bathroom. The restaurant down at the water's edge was great. the pool was wonderful - clean, beautiful with relaxing deck chairs around...
