This is nice guesthouse in El Remate. The woman is very nice and arranges things for you (Tikal, transport etc) but she only speaks Spanish. The room is spacious, has a warm shower and a fan. Very good and quiet place to visit Tikal from. (btw there is an ATM nearby.)

We had planned to go to Tikal and wanted to stay somewhere a bit less touristy and "off the beaten track". El remate is the place! The views of the lake and the welcoming, friendly people made it for us! We loved the place. The inn was ideal for getting to Tikal with our 5:30am pick up. We had two...

Owner is very nice, she helps out if you want to book a shuttle to Tikal (leave 5:30 am, return 2:00 pm, 50Q p.p. better deal than in Flores, from where you even leave later in the morning so you cant enjoy Tikal alone). We could use her kitchen, and nearby are some tiny shops so you can budget your...

The owner was friendly, the room was clean and the shower had great water pressure. The location is close to Tikal and the price was good- 150Q for three beds. It was quiet and had a nice porch. Across the street from the lake. Only drawbacks were no in room wifi and springy beds.

I stayed here for one night and definitely recommend it to others. The owner greeted me as I arrived- We were able to communicate a bit through my broken Spanish, and she was very sweet and patient. My room was clean and comfortable. The location is great- near the main part of town and services, and near a road that...

Big rooms with own bathroom for only 100Q, owners are very friendly and are always willing to help you. Don't expect anything fancy, but this is without a doubt a solid budget option. They even allowed us to use their kitchen.

We arrived in to El Remate for just one night, as you walk in to the reception area it looks like no one is around but the staff are downstairs. The lady showed us a private room which was 120Q per night with private bathroom. We also booked a shuttle at 5.30am through the hotel to take us to the...

The rooms are a bit old but are very clean, the bathroom is also very clean. The rooms have two double beds, both with mosquito nets, all the windows have mosquito wire as well. The owner was very friendly and explained about buses into Belize and also to Tikal. She didn't speak any English but she did talk nice and...

In quaint El Remate, we ended up at the Posada Ixchel (not Ixel according to TripAdvisor) since Las Gardenias was full. The staff at Las Gardenias suggested we try this accommodation, a mere three doors down. Pros --The family that runs Posada Ixchel is very kind, helpful, and friendly. They live on-site so they are always around. --You can't beat...
