We booked this trip last minute for the first weekend of Mardi Gras. Considering the circumstances, the price was very good. The hotel is beautiful and the staff was lovely. The room and bathroom were incredibly comfortable, stylish and clean. We will certainly come back.

Great staff. If you want to have dinner in their great restaurant then book ahead of time. They had no empty tables. Breakfast good but not a flexible menu. They need to clean the carpets that are stained on the second floor, but the room was very clean. So much better than a cookie cutter hotel.

This hotel is in a great location, very close to the French Quarter, the Charles Street Trolley, and the downtown New Orleans business district. The hotel is in an old warehouse, and has lots of character. On the downside, however, most of the rooms are completely windowless, or if they have a window, it's into a very small "light well"....

Just back from our first trip to New Orleans, and this was our choice for a Hotel. Here's a quick synopsis of our stay. Check-in: Greeted by very friendly and welcoming staff. We were checked in, with keys in hand, in less than 90 seconds. Seriously impressive. It was head spinningly fast. Hats off to the young guy. Room. We...

At check in, we were asked if we minded staying on the ground level. I specifically asked why that would matter. We were told it really doesn't because our rooms have been sound proofed. We were never told that we were directly across the street from a bar that has screaming bass pouring out of it every night. At over...

Room was surprisingly modernized (especially the bathroom. Blackout shades were nice. Towels and soaps pleasant. Rustic original character of room a nice change. Room was quiet and clean. Bed was very comfortable.

I enjoyed my stay very much. A very cool, arty vibe, with a wonderful location and affordable. Would absolutely stay here again. The bar and restaurant downstairs were very nice, and for me, the location was ideal--very walkable to the tourist attractions, but not in the middle of the quarter with the noise and crowds. Close to the art galleries,...

Amazing Location and hotel staff. Need to explain the "green room" option. Since I didnt have a mini-bar, would be nice to get same value at regular bar in hotel. Need friendlier bar tenders. Only serving beer/wine and no cocktails after 10PM in NOLA is a travesty. That business just goes elsewhere.....

The Old 77 was a great to hotel to stay at. Friendly staff, very cute decor and excellent food, bar and coffee station. The hotel minibar had a fun assortment of snacks. The airport driver CJ, also gave great service and a entertaining ride. The hotel is also very centrally located to both the French Quarter and the Business district.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
