Front desk crew lacked just about everything you would want in a front end employee. From eye rolls to the customer in front of me to the lack of direction to my room. They could cost you a great valet by making the customer go out and get them to tag our bags. I don't tip as much when I'm...

First trip to New Orleans! Not only was the city experience one for the books, The Old No. 77 provided one of the best nights I've had at any hotel. Beautiful place, great atmosphere, perfect location. I'll definitely be back for another stay!

Hotel was nice and clean. People were very friendly. Good location, within walking distance to most attractions. Restaurant was good, but the menus were hard to read, and the waitress did not help much in explaining. Do not order the Rib was 80% fat for 30$.

The attention to detail at the Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery is amazing! The valet service is top notch. The location is right by Mother's Restaurant which is amazing (get the biscuits with butter and jam). Just a QUICK walk (10 minutes) to the French Quarters. Really close to Couchon for some amazing charcuterie and an easy location to...

We stayed here for 5 days, overall pleased with the hotel and the location . About a half mile walk from the French Quarter. And a good location for taxi service to and from the airport to get in and out of the city.

Hotel was great. Bed was super comfortable. Drink prices I thought were very high, but I found that prices for food and drink are very expensive anywhere in New Orleans. Especially with the Canadian currency exchange, it was a hard blow.

This is a very nice property. Everyone talks about the exposed brick and hardwood floors and that's nice and all but my husband and both suffered light headedness when entering the room. We think it was a combination of high ceilings, no window and the ventilation system. The room is not a place you'd just like to hang out and...

The hotel is top restaurant and fab espresson coffee and fresh baked goods in the morning . Not the place if you are looking for new high end but great old atmosphere and relaxed friendly staff. Would go back and recommend highly.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
