Rooms are adequate but need a deep cleaning or complete update. Discolored and peeling wallpaper, musty smelling drawers and corridors. Could be top notch with a good dose of TLC. Nice bar and courtyard. Did not partake, but full service restaurant on premise.

The hotel is very charming with plenty of New Orleans atmosphere. Located a block off Bourbon St. It is within easy walking distance to Cafe du Monde, Frenchman St. and Jackson Square. The room was nice if a bit drafty with a courtyard balcony that added to the ambiance. I agree with a previous reviewer and took away a star...

I had a very unusual request when I was at the Hotel St Marie last week, and even after being told no they would not be able to accomodate me, the concierge, Jen, did not give up. She found a way to get me what I needed. The hotel is gorgeous, and the staff is absolutely delightful to work with....

We are lucky to get to NOLA at least once a year and always stay somewhere different in the quarter. The staff at hotel St. Marie made our stay there a great experience, they lost a star for an old king size mattress which should have been replaced. The bathroom was small and a little out dated, but if you've...

3 friends and I spent 3 nights at the St Marie in late November 2012 and despite having checked it out on the internet prior to arriving, could not believe the location, bang smack in the middle of the French Quarter, less than a block to Bourbon Street, a few blocks to Frenchman St (great for lovers of jazz) and...

My partner and I stayed at Hotel St Marie in November 2012. We arrived around 8pm in the evening, check in was very easy and had our room key in less than 5 minutes. Foyer is gorgeous as is the courtyard pool and surrounded balconies. Our room was a corner room, high enough to ever the house roofs and see...

Returned from a second stay at the Hotel St Marie. While we love the location and find most of the staff to be a pleasure, I do think it's time some money was spent on sprucing the rooms up. Check in was great. Arrived early, around 1PM but we were able to check-in right away. The gentleman who checked us...

Alittle lengthy but it is all info I wish I knew before I arrived.. Upon arrival we were able to luckily squeeze into a 10 min parking spot outside. The hotel looked nice from the outside. We didn't spend too much time in the lobby but it appeared nice. We arrived around noon and our room wasn't ready so they...

Stayed for 3 nights in a courtyard balcony room and was totally satisfied. The location is ideal, being one block from Bourbon on a quite well kept street. I found the front desk staff to be helpful and friendly. My room (305) had a large balcony with table and 2 chairs. The sound of the fountain in the courtyard provided...

Although quaint, and very nicely located in the French Quarter, this hotel leaves a lot to be desired. With the exception of the staff, there is very little good to say. The staff was excellent, and did the best they could with what they had. Carpets, even in the lobby are stained. Room walls have chips out of the paint,...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
