We made a last minute decision to visit New Orleans ( to avoid the hurricane coming up the east coast). On the drive I was looking through my AAA guide for a place to stay. Based on their recommendation, I chose the Hotel St. Marie. Am very glad I did - it is a perfect spot in the French quarter,... More

My husband and I were in NOLA for his birthday and I wanted a room with a balcony. Did a search and found the St. Marie. Really love this hotel. Right in the French Quarter, close to everything; a block off Bourbon Street, but not noisy. The lobby is quaint and charming; Aaron at the front desk was very helpful... More

My sisters and I visited New Orleans to celebrate a monumental birthday and we stayed at the Hotel St. Marie. We couldn't be more pleased with the staff and location. Upon finding out that we were there to celebrate a birthday, the gal at the front desk (I'm sorry I don't remember her name) had a bottle of champagne waiting... More

We stayed at Hotel St. Marie based on a recommendation of a family friend. It was a wonderful place to stay. You are paying for location at this hotel. Not more than 50 steps from Bourbon Street, you are right in the middle of the action. Tropical Isle (famous for the hand grenade drink) is right on the corner -... More

We got referred to this hotel from friends that frequent New Orleans and I will agree the location is great. The staff was friendly and the food was good. Our room was tiny, but expected as this is an old hotel. Our first day we got up and realized the hotel does not come with toiletries, so we headed to... More

Stayed here for my Bachelorette party. It was absolutely amazing. There was 6 of us total. Aaron, the concierge, was just wonderful. Super sweet, extremely helpful. Thomas, the valet, was super amazing as well. The hotel was stunning. The brick wall were gorgeous. One of my best stays in the city. Would totally go again!!

The most unprofessional, non hospitable, front desk ever encountered, bittered the entire experience. The guy just did not want us there, very rude and unwelcoming. The Room we got into was damp. Horrible experience after paying premium price for a holiday weekend (4th of July). Antoinette was helpful and courteous; I asked for a different room the next day (with... More

1/2 block off Bourbon Street. Walk to everywhere in the Quarter. We had a Deluxe King Room. Room was large, clean and comfortable. The staff was so accomodating. Nice little coffee sandwich shop downstairs. Also a bar that was friendly like your neighborhood bar. Even a restaurant. Reasonable price for the location and amenities

If you want to be close to the action, this is a great hotel for you. One block from Bourbon Street (partying), two blocks from Royal Street (shopping), and just a few blocks from Jackson Square. Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
