Can't say anything wrong about the Royal Sonesta. Location perfect. Food and drinks in Desire the best, especially with waitress Joann. The room was nice and quite. Thanks to the reviews On Tripadvisor. I asked for one in the back. Will stay there again

This hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of the restaurants and activities of Bourbon Street. We upgraded to a Club room and it was well worth it. The Club rooms are on a Concierge floor and include a small breakfast buffet and an afternoon cocktail hour. The rooms are a bit on the small side but very nicely appointed...

I really struggled making the decision for lodging on this trip. As a first timer in New Orleans I wasn't sure what I was getting into. First off, I went the weeks after Mardi Gras yet had a blast. The streets were crowded with people, musicians and artists. The Royal Sonesta offered a solid and consistent luxury service. We stayed...

This was my first trip to New Orleans. I had no idea just how great the location for this hotel is. Our room faced the inside and the view of the courtyard was lovely. I really liked the inside of the hotel as well with it's shiny floors and beautiful chandeliers. I found all the staff exceptional. I would recommend...

This hotel tries to combine the elegance of "Old" New Orleans with some newer amenities. It was lovely, but had a few things I wish they would change. It would be nice if you didn't have to go to the coffee shop and purchase a cup of coffee. I can stay somewhere like Hampton Inn and get an entire complimentary...

For our 10th Anniversary, we decided to go to the Crescent City to celebrate. We took the train from Atlanta (which is a different, less than stellar story--14 hour train ride....) and took the cab to the hotel. I had it arranged with Jessica in concierge that she was going to have our room set up nicely for our anniversary....

We started our stay in NO at another, more expensive property, When we saw the Royal Sonesta we immediately switched hotels! The rooms are very nice, we had a Balcony room overlooking Deauville, saw a wedding Parade one evening.

We knew what we were asking for. A third floor room, interior, to enjoy the pool and the quiet when we wanted to get away from Bourbon Street. We got that room and it met our needs until about 7:30 am when workmen decided it was time for us to get up and started scrapping the wood on the louvers...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
