You never have to leave this hotel if you don't want to. There are 2 or 3 resturaunts, a PJ's coffee shop with nice seating and great pastries, a wonderful pool and bar area on the 3rd floor with a covered cabana area. Great lobby area and a jazz bar and courtyard to die for. We loved it The staff...

Our 2nd stay at Royal Sonesta, and we again loved it. It is conveniently located on the middle of Bourbon Street. If you want to be in the middle of all fun activities on Bourbon and be treated like royalty, this is the place to stay. Every one is super friendly, the location is great, the rooms large, and the...

Great hotel, exceeded expectations! Perfect location on Bourbon street to run up to room if desired between strolls. Very comfortable rooms and enjoyed the pool balcony. Definitely recommend to others and will stay here next trip to New Orleans.

Perfect location right on the middle of Burboun Street. Full of tradition and old charm. We loved the rather big pool area with bar, and that we could enjoy a chilled beach life during the day and walk down a few stairs into to buzz of Burboun in the evening. One irritating thing, though: The hotel charge 10 USD a...

I stayed in a room right off the pool area. Everyone there is so friendly. Desire has great food, and Le Booze is great to have a drink before dinner. The rooms are clean and beautiful. Great place to stay. Feel so safe there.

Hotel is being renovated and upgraded. Everything was brand new. Our room was very nice and bedding was exceptionally comfortable. All staff was very nice and professional and quick to help. Bar down stairs had superb entertainment and we spent the whole night enjoying the musicians and the atmosphere there.

My husband treated me to a surprise visit to the Royal Sonesta. The hotel is being renovated and the rooms are gorgeous. We thoroughly enjoyed their fabulous pool. The location is unbeatable and the staff is most definitely the best in New Orleans. It was the best birthday present ever.

We recently spent three nights here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was small, but clean and comfortable. Even though the hotel was located on Bourbon Street, we never heard any noise. There was construction going on in the lobby, but in no way did it disturb our visit. We enjoyed the pool and the pool bar, as well....

While I loved the hotel and it's location, I highly suggest not going while they are doing renovations. If you do go, then be certain you are no where near where the renovations are taking place. We reserved a pool balcony room for one Sunday night at $250 and were horribly awakened by very very loud jackhammers vibrating our room....

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
