Traveled to New Orleans to spend family time w/our son & DIL. Chose this hotel based on location and reviews. We had 2 interior balcony rooms. They are a bit small, which is expected for an older building, but recently updated, clean, & comfortable. There is no noise at all from Bourbon st in these rooms. The hotel is gorgeous... More

Our favorite hotel in NOLA! Our balcony was directly across from Kicks (the other club is too loud) so we were fortunate to be able to listen to jazz music until the wee hours of the morning. It was enjoyable to sit outside on the balcony, sip a glass of wine, and watch the crowds meander through Bourbon Street. A... More

Greetings dmcooney, What a lovely story. Savoring a glass of wine on a cool autumn night with the melodies of a saxophone whispering in the background, what more could one ask for when visiting New Orleans? We love this hotel. We have stayed here the last three times we have been to New Orleans and it's still one of our favorites. We stay on the Club Level. It is so worth the extra money for the services. You get breakfast daily and beer, wine and appetizers from 5-7 every day. The staff on this floor that... More

Bourbon Street location means close to every thing. Beautiful large rooms and well maintained fixtures. Jazz club bar off lobby has great music, no cover charge and excellent "small plates"

The location of the Royal Sonesta is fantastic: on Bourbon Street, right in the middle of the French Quarter. Very near all the best restaurants. Close to Jackson Square. Comfortable. Very friendly staff.

Dear Jack, While the street that our hotel calls home is what is often associated with New Orleans, we think that it’s our Royal Sonesta colleagues who make an experience at our hotel so memorable. First visit to NOLA. Hotel was central in French Quarters. There was some noise from the streets with music and party. But that was ok due to location and complementary earplugs. Clean and nice rooms. Recommend Jazz Club at the hotel.

Our favorite hotel...in the midst of all the craziness that is Bourbon Street, this elegant hotel is an oasis of charm, refinement and beauty. We love their Desire Oyster Bar restaurant and really enjoy the live music Jazz Playhouse all within the hotel itself!

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
