This hotel is in the heart of the French Quarter. You won't miss a thing! We had a room with a balcony facing Conti ( the hotel is on the corner of Conti and Bourbon). We could see the Bourbon street activity, but it wasn't too loud. The room was plenty big and the bathroom was very spacious. The decor...

Stayed at the Royal Sonesta for a recent conference and was pleased with the hotel, conference facilities and location. My room was very clean and comfortable. The location is perfect with many locations within walking distance. Part of the hotel does face Bourbon street so it can be a bit noisy at times. I realized the ear plugs in the...

The location is in the heart of the French Quarter. We had a nice balcony facing the parades over St. Patrick's Day parades. Nice appointments and the room was lovely. We would stay here again in the future.

Danielle, checked us in and gave us numerous suggestions for breakfast spots in and outside of the quarter. The bed was comfortable and the room offers a white robe and slippers. Across the way is Music Legends park which is a courtyard-like area where you could hear lovely live jazz music. We checked out at 4:30 in the morning and...

IN terms of the noise - This is partially my fault. I have been to N.O. previously and knew what to expect from being so close to Bourbon Street. However, what I did not expect was the level of internal noise. I guess the assumption is that if you are close to Bourbon street you're expected to be drunk and...

We spent 5 days there last week and were very pleased. Got a very good rate on the 3rd floor and with the exception of a wedding parade found it a lot quieter than some of the reviews. We really loved having jazz every night in the hotel where we didnt have to leave the hotel and head out on...

Given the location, I found this hotel to be well priced given the overall ambiance. I liked that the side doors were closed after a certain time in the evening. Did not have a chance to eat in their several restaurants. Before arriving I saw some complaints about some of the rooms but mine was quite nice.

We have an annual Thanksgiving gathering of our kids and grandkids, and the French Quarter of New Orleans has been the spot four out of the past six years. Each of the four weeks were spent at the Royal Sonesta, where the good times do roll. Several of the staff, from the lead doorman to the concierge, have recognized us...

The Front Desk staff is the worst I've ever experienced in any hotel, in any city. At check in time, the 500+ room a night wasn't ready. "Come back in 15 minutes," I was told. "We'll take care of your luggage." They wheeled my luggage into the middle of the lobby, where people were coming and going off of Bourbon...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
