The hotel is beautiful and the room was comfortable. The location is right in the heart of New Orleans, which makes it highly attractive. For the price point of the hotel, I would have expected more attention to detail. The carpet in my room was extremely wet when I arrived. It likely had just been shampooed, but it was disruptive...

The Monteleone is a good, albeit in some ways shabby hotel, with an excellent location near the best shops, bars, and restaurants in both Bourbon and Royal streets in the Old Quarter. Staff is more than friendly and the Concierge could not be mote helpful in every way. The restaurant is rather on the expensive side and you might be...

Close to everything in French Quarter and Bourbon street. My last stay here was 50 years ago. The Criollo Restaurant was the best around and the bed was great. The best jazz was also in the hotel lounge.

Pretty room and I LOVED the huge bathtub!! We ate breakfast at the hotel both mornings and the food (eggs benedict of the day and beignets were fantastic)! All the employees were very nice and professional, but I want to compliment the young woman who was supplying towels at the pool area - I didn't realize my phone charger had...

This is a great location in the French Quarter, very close to many excellent bars and restaurants. Décor is traditional and elegant. Service personnel are delightful and seem very efficient. Parking is expensive, typical of the French Quarter. Carousel Bar and Criollo Restaurant downstairs will have you very well taken care of, great food and atmosphere. Gym and pool on...

This historic hotel is in a great location in the French Quarter. The lobby is beautiful with many antique pieces of furniture. Just off of the lobby is the Carousel Bar, which is packed from morning until closing. It is extremely noisy in the bar and almost impossible to ever find a seat. The rooms are small, as it is...

The beds were extremely comfortable. I also saw the staff cleaning constantly which is nice. This was a great base in the Quarter. We had planned to have a drink at the Carousel bar, but don't plan on it without planning. The bar is occupied from open to close. We prefer historic, vintage and family owned/independent hotels and the Monteleone does not disappoint. Great location, great mix of historic detail recently remodeled restaurant and lounge that strike the perfect esthetic balance. Staff is friendly and very professional. They are welcoming and make you feel at home with nice touches of generosity. Would stay here again and recommend it highly!

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
