After a long day of work, and two long flights, I elected to take an $80 Uber ride from the airport instead of a taxi because the taxi line was very long. My Uber driver was, to put it kindly, horrific. He would not stop talking about the different strip clubs he'd been too and strippers he'd managed to take...

Right on the edge of the French Quarter, easy access to entertainment, very charming. Somewhat expensive rates but worth it as the food was amazing and the service was excellent. Rooms were quaint and well appointed. We really loved the Carousel Bar and the evening entertainment.

We stayed in this hotel from 4 nights with friends whilst travelling. On arrival we were upgraded to a spa suite which was a lovely surprise. I can honestly say I was more than impressed with the customer service, presentation and cleanliness. We were on the 6th floor at the rear of the building with obscured Mississippi River views. Was first here in 1967. So much has changed, but the quality, atmosphere and elegance have gone up. There is a broad range of rooms to select from, but a suite is worth the extra cost. Dining is excellent, but I would rate it just above average for N.O., given the high standards and competition in this city.

We celebrated 20 years of marriage at The Monteleone by spending the night in the Earnest Hemingway Penthouse the same way we did on our honeymoon. There is no place that we would have rather been. Thank you for a wonderful time. Southern hospitality at its finest.

This hotel is amazing. My husband and I are locals, and booked our wedding block/bridal suite here. The Eudora Welty suite was huge and I have never seen or stayed anywhere like it - wow, perfect for my 8 bridesmaids and I (plus mother etc.) to get ready in all day before the biggest day of my life. My husband, myself, and a group of friends are staying at the Hotel Monteleone next month. We have visited for food and drinks on our previous visits to Nola and can't wait to spend a week in this beautiful hotel. Our reservations were made many moths ago but due to some unforeseen events some changes had to be made today....

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
