This is one of the best hotels we have stayed at in a while. From being greeted at the door to the wonderful lady behind the counter, everything was perfect. First I have to say that the staff is top notch. They not only had an answer to my many questions but they made us feel at home. This hotel...

My Husband and I Celebrated our 32nd Wedding Anniversary and had so much fun. We are "empty nesters" and took the time for this much needed Vacation. The Hotel added GREATNESS to our Experience in New Orleans. Loved the Location, loved the view out of 4 of the 5 windows in our Room. The employee's were SO very NICE.

A doorman, classical music, and a charming ambiance greet you at this hotel. It's located in a quiet neighborhood, but close enough to the French Quarter to walk or take the streetcar. We had a balcony overlooking Lafayette Park and the bed was heavenly! They have some free street parking, which was such a blessing! We didn't move our car...

My wife and I took a trip to New Orleans and decided we wanted to lodge near the French Quarter. Our search for hotels in the area led us to The Lafayette Hotel on St Charles Ave. The hotel immediately reminded me of some of the hotels I had stayed in during visits to Paris and the location was close...

This hotel is not a perfect 5 star prime hotel, but it is a pretty good 4 star charmer and well worth the price. Location: in Warehouse District on St. Charles Street. The streetcar is literally right out the front door and there is lots within walking distance either way (into the Lower Garden District, Warehouse, or French Quarter). Also...

Let’s start by saying that there is no place like home. That said; let’s get to the important stuff! Upon check in we were informed that our room would be next to the elevator. We expressed concern and were told that we had nothing to worry about. Reluctantly we proceeded to our room. To our surprise and amazement, the room...

Charming hotel close to the French Quarter but far enough to enjoy the sights. St. Charles trolley is right outside the door to carry you to French Quarter, Garden District, Lafayette Square. Suites are huge. The restaurant was closed for vacation but easy access to plenty of other choices. Just off from the Business District so able to walk the...

This was a nice small hotel. The rooms were pretty clean and the furnishings were fresh. Convenient to most things in New Orleans; either a short walk or streetcar ride. Staff was very friendly. The street noise was a little loud on the front of the building and our room occasionally had a smokey smell, but otherwise a very pleasant...

Charming hotel, close to everything but still away from the bustle. Across the street is a streetcar stop for the St. Charles streetcar, and across the other street is Lafayette Square, a historic landmark. We traveled with our dog, a German Shepherd and the staff was really nice and welcoming. There were no issues and the dog and we felt very...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
