we loved the location, five blocks from bourbon street and across from a nice park. However rooms are very old dirty carpets and rooms are small. The staff were nice at front desk. Probably won't stay again.

Very convenient for the weekend parades just before Mardi Gras. The parades went right past the front door. 10 minute walk to Bourbon St, so nice and quiet in the evening. The restaurant was booked all days but there are a lot of nice eateries close by (east).

I wish I could have rated it less than 1. My girlfriend and I booked our trip though the hotel in November and everything seemed fine. We arrived at our hotel early in the morning and was told the room was not ready. They held our luggage and we scoped out the New Orleans area. We received a call that...

I haven't had an opportunity to review this hotel, but I just have to expose this little gem. I booked a room at this hotel 2 years ago for my birthday and it was the best experience ever! My birthday was during a weekend convention and just about every hotel was booked, so my boyfriend at the time suggested this...

We spent 4 nights during the New Year's Eve. The Hotel is in a good position very close to the French district but is vey poor for services and hospitality. We arrived at 1100 pm and we had to wait outside for 10 min before they open and then another 10-15 min to do the check at the reception even...

I had stayed at the Lafayette Hotel in November of 2013. It had been a good experience at a fantastic price. I had to spend Thanksgiving Eve in New Orleans with my son and wanted to stay there again. My experience was the same as the first time. Top Knotch, Reasonable pricing, convenient to the Quarter. I had a slight...

I'd like to start by saying that I absolutely love this hotel, and that I will definitely return. However, I'd like to make it known that some of the rooms are being renovated. Renovation is a good thing, however, when I travel I love to sleep past 7 am. That's correct folks, the sound of squeaking doors, tape being dispensed,...

Our stay at The Lafayette Hotel was amazing. The staff was beyond incredible, and they went above and beyond to help their guests feel comfortable. We arrived well after check-in, but we were greeted at almost midnight by a cheerful staff member. She helped unload our luggage, and then she valet parked our car. The room was nicely decorated, extremely...

Overall, I had a great experience with the Lafayette Hotel. The location was great with the streetcar right outside the door and several restaurants just across the street. The staff was wonderful and extremely helpful. My room was huge- both the bedroom and the bathroom were much bigger than other hotels that I've visited. The area around the hotel was...

Great hotel and fantastic staff. We booked at the last minute but still got a great rate. The room was spotless and even though we slept in, the staff left a large bag full of towels, wash cloths, hand towels, soap, coffee, etc. tied to the door which meant we didn't have to contact housekeeping to get what we needed....

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
