I am a frequent business traveler to the Crescent City. I usually stay at the Sheraton on Canal Street. The hotel is clean, staff friendly and offers a business center, work-out facility, valet parking and much more. It has a large bar area and Starbucks coffee shop on the first floor. The negatives include limited restaurant facilities inside the hotel...

This was a very nice hotel and would stay here again. it is centrally located and easy to get to almost everything on foot if you are able to walk easily. The food that was served at our convention was all very good and loved the bar down in the main lobby. Rooms were very clean and we had a...

This was my first time in the big easy and I was attending a 3 day conference at this hotel a few days before Christmas. The lobby was wonderfully decorated with a big tree and a huge ginger bread replica of the St. Louis Cathedral and Jackson Square. Lots of people around, but still calm with a cool vibe. My...

We stayed here this week for the AFSA convention which was held at the Sheraton. The location is excellent on Canal Street. You can easily walk out to catch the streetcar on St.Charles. Very easy walking distance to Jackson Square and all points of interest. Great staff and room had a great view.

I stayed at the Sheraton in December 2016 for a 2 day conference. Hotel was impressive, clean, excellent service from the desk personnel, housekeeping, all the way to the bartenders. (the conference buffet and set up was top notch if you are going for business)... The room was good, but I wouldn't say elegant...but remember this was business, not a...

My stay at the Sheraton NO started off well, I received an upgrade on my room due to my SPG status. The room was pleasant with a great view, though not the cleanliness I had expected from a Sheraton property. The same could be said for the hallways and the common areas as well. At check out, I dropped off...

Upon check-in, I was greeted warmly and my request to be on a higher floor and far away from the elevator was accommodated. The bed was comfortable, the room was a very reasonable size, and the location is basically ideal for accessing everything in town. However, there were two mitigating circumstances that bugged me. One was the shutters they use...

Thank you for your review. We are happy to have shared our prime location with its stunning views, comfortable accommodations and warm staff with you. We are sorry that our plantation shutters did not allow a full blackout in your room and apologize you experienced a challenge when requesting a late checkout. Had the option been available a phone call...

I stayed here for several days due to a conference. It was a great experience! My room was clean and comfortable. The staff was warm and inviting! The conference facilities were excellent, we had plenty of space and a nice setup on the 5th floor. I used the internet services and had no problems. I also ordered room service one...

Two night stay recently. Everything was first class & enjoyable. Staff was helpful & friendly, rooms were nice. Very clean with comfortable bedding. Impressive city view from room with floor to ceiling window. Everything you need on site including a lounge area, restaurant, fitness center & pool (also a Starbucks inside hotel). A very short (safe) walk to Bourbon Street,...

BETTER THAN EXPECTED I booked 4 rooms for 8 ladies at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel on Canal Street. We were overwhelmed with the entire hotel staff, the cleanliness, the Club Level food and beverage, the views and the location. I admit that I was somewhat nervous after reading some reviews because I felt responsible if anyone was not pleased...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
