Stayed here for 4 nights for a conference. The staff was very nice and helpful despite the hotel being so crowded with people in the conference. The hotel is located very close to french quarter so we had plenty of choices for dinner within walking distance. The room, though, is not as great as other Starwood hotels. But since I'm...

We stayed here for a convention in New Orleans. We arrived on a Wednesday evening close to 9:00PM and it was very quiet in the hotel lobby area. We were in our room within 10 mins of arriving. The elevators were different but once you knew what to do it was a breeze. We stayed until early checkout on Monday...

I booked this hotel through one of the hotel discounter sights because I wanted to stay close to the French Quarter and didn't want to pay an outrageous amount. It satisfied that, but other than that there were a few problems. When I arrived the check-in clerk was in training. It took a while. I understand that they have to...

I very much enjoyed my stay at the Sheraton in New Orleans. From the hotel you can easily walk to Bourbon St. and other top New Orleans attractions/sights but since it's not on Bourbon St. it's nowhere near as loud and/or crowded. The hotel itself is gorgeous - the lobby is beautiful. My room was huge and well decorated, with...

Very professional hotel in a great location. Minutes from Bourbon St., the French Quarter, the mighty Mississippi, and shops. Comfortable, safe, and the tour desk is excellent - especially William who knows everything :) While a higher priced hotel if it's in your price range then you'll be more than happy here.

Just returned from NOLA - and stayed at the Sheraton. The location is outstanding - close enough to the action to be able to walk there - but far enough away to have some quiet. The hotel was clean and we received great customer service from everyone we ran into. I would definitely stay there again.

Great beds and sound-proofed windows ensured a good nights sleep despite all the happy craziness of Halloween in New Orleans. The elevators had left 3 people stuck in the lobby area however--one women from overseas with rather limited English who kept getting out of the elevator when there were no buttons to push and 2 separate drunks (at 8 am...

Staff was great or horrible. We had to argue to the front desk we paid for and one night in advance, they couldn't find it. Had to argue with valet that we paid 3 days in advance? Asked a bartender if I could order food. He said ask the waitress. I waited 10 minutes watching the waitress clean a bus...

We stayed here for a girls' weekend getaway. The room was on the 36th floor and high up with a canal view. Great location. Overall great hotel!! Right in the French Quarter and walking distance to Bourbon Street, Super Dome and Harrahs Casino. Lots of restaurants nearby. Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
