We stayed here for Tulane Parents Weekend and took advantage of their special pricing. It was much cheaper than any hotel across the street. Check-in was quick and seamless despite the number of guests checking in. The elevators are a bit weird; you select your floor at a central console which then displays the car number that will bring you...

AnitaClone, We value you as our guest and thank you for taking the time to share your honest feedback. Yes, the elevators do take a bit of getting used to, but make transporting guests to and from their floors a little smoother. Please accept our apologies for your experience in the Pelican Bar. Our team will be notified and we...

The hotel is close to all the action in New Orleans! The hotel is understaffed, took an hour in line to check out as they had only one host doing checkouts!!!!! Easy walking distance to shops and Bourbon Street! Bar prices were reasonable! Elevators were precise, quick and accurate! Room bed (king) was awesome!

I arrived a day early for my reservation due to a mistake I made booking my stay. The desk clerk checked with her manager & still provided me with a room, very friendly & pleasant person. The hotel is in a great location, walking distance to French Quarter but not in the middle of the madness. The room was exceptionally...

Imposing high-rise in a good location. Views were excellent; rooms are typical of a business and tourist-oriented downtown property. Staff was very helpful in solving a couple of minor issues. Would go back.

We stayed at the Sheraton for the Rock and Roll Marathon weekend on January 23-25, 2015. We opted for the club level and at first we were given a room with a city view. We went back downstairs and asked for a room with a view of the Mississippi. The front desk quickly obliged us with a higher room on...

A standard Sheraton in layout but with considerable renovation. Friendly people and a nice feeling to it, despite being a large chain. Well located in the City, close to the French Quarter and good eating. No complaints in general. The internet is charged but is efficient and perhaps a little cheaper than one would pay in Europe - all the...

The hotel is in the French Q on Canal Street - a happening place. It is a high-rise hotel and I was given a room on the 43rd F which had great views of the river. Mine was a suite and fairly well-equipped. There is a lounge on the 42nd F, which was always crowded and had almost the same...

Loved the designer grand piano in the lobby (painted in all bright colours). Rooms are a good spec - had a great view of the city from the 25th floor so ask to go high. Room service a bit slow. Great coffee bar in the lobby - take a coffee away with you each morning.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
