This is my 10th time staying at the Hotel Provincial and like a good wine it seems to improve with age. Clean rooms, great value and awesome location in the quiet part of the French Quarter. Loved the new addition of the Ice House Bar. James is a great bartender! Looking forward to my next visit

My wife and I love to stay here. Great location and the staff go way beyond to make you feel at home. We have stayed here many times and will return. I am now just adding some more character because saying everything is great is not enough to meet the character requirments. Just stay here you will not regret it.

The Provincial is not a hotel, it's my second home. I've been there 8 times in the last 10 years and I'm always welcomed with open arms. Sherlane treats me as if I'm part of the family every time I visit, as does Etienne & James. They make the best drinks in the quarter. Their hurricanes are from scratch NOT...

Stayed here a number of times and it has always been a pleasurable experience. Sherlane is so friendly and helpful, she'll set you up right. Then I'd suggest going to the Ice House bar to see Etienne for the best & homemade hurricanes in the area!!

Loved the location of this hotel. Convenient to everything in the French Quarter, very atmospheric and immaculate. The hotel was nicely furnished and felt "atmospheric". Rooms were spacious, with nice linens. There were two courtyards, one with small cast iron table and one with a lovely pool. It was too cold for us in March but looked tempting. Staff was...

I spent a couple of nights here and really liked the hotel and staff. Everyone very helpful and pleasant. The hotel is clean and quiet, just off the more lively French Quarter center and within easy walking distance of the river. There are lovely quiet courtyards scattered here and there for staying cool on hot days. I did have concerns...

We were surprised by the accommodations. Not your typical large scale hotel. This has character and just lovely. In a perfect location in the french quarter, not in the middle of the noise, but walking anywhere from the location is wonderful.

big comfy bed. great housekeeping staff. shower head could use replacing with a better water pressure. i found it odd there was no coffee maker? maybe I couldn't find it, but being hungover in the morning i wished i could get some coffee without having to get dressed and wander outside. hotel was beautiful and staff super friendly and they...

This hotel is nice, but not outstanding. I'd rate it higher if it were less expensive. The location is TOO central for me. Right in the middle of all the quarter insanity. In the past, I've stayed in smaller places on the edge of the quarter, and really enjoyed that more. This hotel is big, and it feels like it....

Stayed for one night in early April. It's a friendly hotel with a New Orleans kind of feel--not modern, but comfortable. Quiet until the garbage guys come early in the morning. Close enough to walk to everything in the French Quarter. We enjoyed our stay in the "new" bulding. Have also stayed in the older building and liked that, too.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
