This is a great place to stay if you are visiting New Orleans. It is in a quiet sector right next to the French Quarter and Frenchman street. The hotel itself is really nice and staff very friendly. I plan to stay at the same place next time I am in town.

We selected this property based on others' rave reviews. However, we left with mixed feelings about our experience. The location was quiet and easy to get around from, but we felt it was about 3-4 blocks further from the French Quarter than we were comfortable with. The place was bright and airy, with lots of white, modern decor, and it...

I booked the entire Mansion for the weekend of my wedding and while the venue is absolutely gorgeous and the staff very friendly, I found working with the hotel's management team difficult. Just weeks before my wedding date, the owners decided to undergo renovations to one of the main rooms of the Mansion and never did the venue coordinator or...

This a beautiful mansion with excellent service. The room could have used a bit more decorating but very comfortable none-the-less. It was not warm enough to use the pool but it did look very inviting. The location was perfect. Not far from the hub of the French Quarter. The service of the staff was wonderful. They were extremely attentive from check...

Great location, friendly and knowledgable staff. We are seasoned NOLA visitors, once per year or more for decades, lived there in the 70s. After two stays with smaller venues, we will never return to the large hotels - too busy. Melrose Mansion fits the New Orleans state of mind far better than the large chains. We walked most of the...

Just outside of the French quarter and in a safe location. The mansion is gorgeous and the room was very spacious and well decorated. The staff was extremely friendly. I'd advise bringing ear plug and an eye mask. The huge beautiful windows allow some light in through the beautiful blinds. Also, it is next to a very good restaurant that...

Booked a suite here for my anniversary and absolutely adored it. It's a wonderful hidden treasure in the Marigny, and I hope it stays accessible and affordable. The hot tub and balcony over Esplanade made the stay. Will return!

Great suites in a relatively quiet area within a short walk of all the music on Frenchmen street. Breakfast is very simple. The pool is small but refreshing. The space is very relaxing and well restored.

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
