I've stayed in quite a few Marriotts lately and this one was surprisingly outdated and in need of an upgrade. It appears that it was in the first batch of the last upgrade. The hotel seemed very worn. We know that NOLA is a huge convention city so I'm not surprised by its use but the wear and tear seemed...

mikni2wri, Thank you for posting your review of your recent stay. We are delighted to hear you found the cuisine in our restaurant to be enjoyable however it is concerning to hear that the service you received was slow. We have shared this feedback with our restaurant team to use as a training opportunity. We have completed the beginning stages...

Came to New Orleans recently for a conference and stayed at the Marriott on Canal street. The best thing about this hotel apart from the very friendly staff? The location! It was steps away from the Sheraton where the conference actually was, but also right at the edge of the French quarter, close to tons of restaurants and of course,...

We stayed at the Marriott New Orleans as part of an annual convention in Oct 2014. The location was very convenient to so many mini marts, restaurants, and attractions of New Orleans. The hotel was very clean and efficient. As other reviewers have said, the elevator system is amazing and despite a large convention, there was no waiting. Based on...

We are delighted to learn that our close proximity to local restaurants and attractions was convenient for you! We hope that you had an opportunity to explore Jackson Square, Cafe du Monde, or St. Louis Cathedral. You can't beat the location, on the edge of the French Quarter. You can walk everywhere from here, to great restaurants, music, different areas of New Orleans and the trolleys. It is nice having a Starbucks in the lobby, but the whole place is very busy. We were on the 31st floor in the River Tower (I think that was...

My sister and I visited New Orleans for the Halloween festivities. The Marriott was located where we could stand in front of the hotel and watch 3 days of parading. We saw some outlandish costumes and very scary people. It was an awesome 3 days and we'll return to this same location.

My friends and I travel to New Orleans each year for Essence Festival. The New Orleans Marriott is our hotel of choice. The hotel is consistently good. After hours of tours, seminars, and concerts, you want to return to a clean, comfortable room with a great bed. That's what this hotel provides. This is a large hotel with two towers....

I booked my 3-night stay here at the last minute via a third-party booking site and had minimal expectations given some of the less than flattering reviews. Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
