This hotel sits on Canal St. and is within walking distance to Bourboun St.(2 min. walk..very close). Its located on the out skirts of the French Quarter, but is still within walking distance.(maybe 15-20 min walk to be in the heart of the French Quarter), We booked a room with 2 double beds, but when we arrived, which was a...

Typical upscale Marriott, currently (2015) undergoing significant upgrades. Priced about the same as all the hotels in this area. Biggest attraction is that it sits on the edge of the French Quarter. It's very near the River Walk, and maybe 5 minute walk from Jackson Square. I have stayed here twice and found that it's proximity to the French Quarter...

I have stayed at this hotel between 2-4 times per year for the last 6 years, with varying degrees of satisfaction. I have to say I am very impressed with the improvements in the rooms and the overall friendliness and helpfulness of the personnel. I received a newly renovated room on the 36th floor of the River Tower, and it...

Standard Marriott experience. No surprises, nothing stands out. Great location, room comfortable, bathroom needs updating...peeling paint on door. Only restaurant in lobby, limited choices, average food. Not a big issue as there are so many choices to eat right around the corner in French Quarter.

We are here for a national bridge tournament. This hotel is a disgrace to the Marriott name. Our room is in the river tower. No amount of refurbishment can give the room a decent sized bathroom or more outlets. There is no safe. If the closet door is open it is difficult for the other person to even access the...

My husband and I booked through priceline and got a better rate than the standard travel site prices. We were on a romantic weekend's stay in Nola. Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
