Hotels is within walking distance of the French Quarter and the riverfront. Very easy to find your way around town using the Marriott sign on the top of the hotel as your touchstone. We were placed on the 11th floor. OK views. Bed was super comfy, had great nights sleep. The M Club lounge was clean, open 24 hrs and...

Stayed at this Marriott for a professional conference. My two biggest gripes: 1) the lobby area was terribly dim, and 2) the elevators. The elevators were operating on some new system where you put in your floor number and you are assigned an elevator. A staff member had to stand there and explain this to people and punch in numbers...

This hotel is in a great location near the French Quarter. The hotel room itself was clean and comfortable. Customer service was great, we were able to check in early with no problems. The housekeepers were very friendly. Contrary to other reviews, we had no problems whatsoever with the elevators, I think the longest we ever had to wait for...

Nice, decent place, efficient staff that are very helpful, fast and friendly. No microwave in the room and no wifi without paying for it so we were a bit irritated by those two factors that we ussually find are somewhat standard these days. Couldn't change the alarm clock to the correct time. Room was nice, fridge worked, no TV guide...

We just got back home from a five night stay at this hotel. The property was as expected for a flagship Marriott Hotel in a major city. We stayed on rewards points, and so with our Marriott status, we were able to enjoy the bonus of having access to the M Club. Really just took advantage of breakfast, which was...

The location of this hotel is great. Easy walking throughout the French Quarter. Other than that it is just ok. Small bathroom with less than amazing water pressure. Pool area was shady. And the homemade beignets in the lobby (sounds good right?) were terrible.

I had a nice room on a top floor with a fabulous view. Unfortunately, my room was near the elevators, which sound like trains arriving at a station. Relocation was impossible because the hotel was booked solid. The bathroom is small. Staff were nice but slow (e.g. Room was cleaned after 5 pm), so they seem understaffed. I don't think...

Beware. I booked two nights and when I got there I asked about the parking rates. The guy at the valet told me the parking was included with my reservation so we shouldn't worry... so I ask "are you sure", he said yes! So I went inside in the check in area and I asked the lady who helped with...

My family recently visited New Orleans and we decided to stay at the New Orleans Marriott at 555 Canal St. It's right at the edge of the French Quarter and an easy walk to Jackson Square and all the sights in the Quarter. Extremely friendly staff from the valet to housekeeping. Well kept rooms, quick service even on the busiest of days. Many restaurants near by and attractions within waliking distance including Jackson Square, the river front, shopping, Casinos, Bourbon St., Insectarium, and carriage rides. The parking is valet only and around $40 per day with tax.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
