The Le Pavillion Hotel is a lovely old hotel within walking distance of the French Quarter. The location is wonderful with restaurants and bars close but not so close that you are kept awake all night due to party animals! The room was very nice and we got lots of benefits by being a member of the Leading Hotels of...

What a fantastic hotel... Stayed for 4 nights. Great service by all staff. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Great location and cool rooftop pool. Love the turn down service with cookies every night. I will definitely be back!

I stayed her for a business convention in April 2014. The convention rate was $150/nt which seemed fair. The hotel is reasonably nice although many of the features seem to be quite old. The fitness center machines and Jacuzzi seem to be about to be about 20 years old. The hotel puts out peanut butter and Jelly sandwiches which is...

This is the perfect place to stay if you want luxury within walking distance to the French Quarter and Superdome. It's lobby is really spectacular. The rooms have French provincial furnishings that are fused with contemporary amenities. The staff are super friendly and respectful. They have extremely comfortable beds, big closet, desk, dining table and very high-end bathroom amenities. The...

This used to be one of my favorite hotels in New Orleans. However, on a recent stay I came to realize just how much Le Pav has declined. The paint was peeling, the room felt dingy, and worst of all - the shower had two temperatures - scalding hot or ice cold. There was no in between. The breakfast was...

My husband and I booked a trip to the Big Easy after watching an Anthony Bourdain episode on New Orleans. We came to eat, drink, and see the sights. We saved for months and planned to have the time of our lives. With such high expectations, you expect to be let down a little, but New Orleans did not disappoint!...

I have stayed at this hotel several times and each time is better than the last. The rooms beautifully decorated, clean, and quite. The drawn baths are a wonderful way to wind down after a busy day. The hotel is located within walking distance of Bourbon Street, the river, and many great restaurants. If you are into "haunted" hotels I...

The LaPavillon was the 4th of our deep south tour. It was the most expensive and the most hyped. I was really looking forward to the stay here but on arrival I refused to stay in the room that had been allocated. It was small, dingy and overstuffed with furniture. The wall paper was grubby, the bathroom tiles cracked and...

I very much enjoyed my stay with girlfriends at Le Pavillon. The room was spacious and clean. The staff was attentive, and the location was nice. Near the action, but not in the action. The nightly PB&J sandwiches were a nice touch, and a great way for my girlfriends and I to wind down after our days of sightseeing. Would...

Although we typically stay in the French Quarter this hotel had the charm of New Orleans with all the hotel amenities that we wanted. It's beautiful in a gaudy way but exactly what I expect from New Orleans- Over the Top! The staff was amazing and who knew that late night peanut butter and jelly sandwiches would be such a...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
